it''s a less bright stone in comparison with a round so i''m thinking a basic setting with max light. i have picked the following but please let me know which one you think will be the best or suggest other ones that worked well in the past. the diamond i''m looking to mount is a 1.2 princess going on a fairly skinny long finger

much tx as always

my top choice right now

I like the fourth one, the Tiffany. I think any of them would look nice though. You might be able to narrow your search by looking at the matching band selection and search for real life photos of the styles you are looking at.

I love princess cuts so I will be interested to see what you choose!

I like the 2nd one delicate, shiny, and brings out the stone...

Number 1!!! And I do like the look of number 3 too, but number 1 is just classy classy classy. She will love it!!

yeah #1 is still #1. i have e-mailed GoG for a price.

now i have to figure out some way of getting her finger size.. what do you think about using fishing wire for a quick measurement at night??

The x-prong and Fine Line are not what I consider to be similar settings.

sry for the noob-ness.. can you explain a little a bit further? looks like i have more researching to do when i get home. :)

the x prong is thicker. the wire work criss-crosses.

the fine line tapers as you go in. the basket is a regular basket; there is no X.

that''s a different matter.

I think you void WF''s warranty on the setting if you do that.

I like the 2 Vatche settings best (X-prong and Royal Empress).

Of those, I slightly prefer the Royal Empress because it is low-profile and the band is thinner. I'm not a big fan of heavy, thick bands. I don't like the WF setting for the same reason.

If this one (not on your list) could be modified to hold a princess, it would be a good choice:

ETA: I forgot to mention my FAVORITE setting for a princess, the WF Legato Sleek Line! So many people have this for a round stone, but I think the square shape is so much prettier in this setting:

i like the WF legato. however i noticed the bottom is covered. so does that mean less light would get in there for the jewel to shine?

also i have the same concerns with the x prong in regards to the band thickness as well. i''m glad you''ve pointed it the new version to be and will be in contact with GoG today to talk about it.

lastly. has anyone taken a diamond from GoG for WF to mount? is this an industry no no?? i''m not sure if GoG has the band i want in the price i''m willing to pay. the stone is a 1.2 princess ~5k so it seems slight frivolous to spend 2.5k on a band.

oh one more thing. platinum or white gold? :)

as always thanks so much for all the help. can''t wiat to get the picture up once it''s all said and done.
