The HH has been hinting about Oscar and The Weiner (aka, The Demon) needing a brother ''Meyer'' and you''re not helping my resolve any...

aaaaawwwwww, so cute! I almost adopted a catahoula once - what a striking breed. I am glad the puppies are happy and healthy!
The former animal shelter volunteer in me feels compelled to say, though, that your niece''s family may want to have Bossy spayed to prevent future unexpected litters especially if there is an intact male around!
I''m glad I didn''t offend you re: the spaying! I hope they will consider it.Date: 12/27/2007 11:28:41 PM

I know! I''ve repeated that to them ad nauseum. They did plan to breed Bossy eventually, but my sister was under an incorrect assumption that Snoopy, who has been hit by a car, stomped by a cow, and shot by a neighbor, wasn''t physically able to breed her since he''s been patched back together so many times. Umm, yeah, like that ever got in the way.....She did say that Bossy will be spayed as soon as possible now. I''ll believe it when I see it. Considering that these are working dogs and the market is good for them, I wouldn''t be surprised if they went for another litter before they spayed her. It''s hard to get good cow dogs unless you train them from puppies. I''m still going to pressure them though!![]()
Catahoulas are awesome dogs... not for everyone, for sure, but I''ve just always loved them. We had dozens of them at a time when I was a kid (cow dogs) and I''m completely entranced by them. They are so loyal and family oriented, as long as you have several acres for them to run! Snoopy had to move from the ranch to the suburbs now after all his accidents, and it has been a little hard on him. My dad put wire under the edges of his pen so he dug a huge hole in the center of the pen! I think he''s tunneling out. When he is let out to run, he runs at top speed for an hour before passing out, usually in a figure-8 pattern.

When I look at her face all I can think is that she's begging for a epi-doggy-dural!!!Date: 12/27/2007 5:27:10 PM

Last one for now... here's the proud and EXHAUSTED mama, somewhere between puppies 5 and 6. She was not quite sure what was going on, but her instincts were strong and she is an excellent mama!
