What reasons were you given by a B&M rep to NOT shop online?

In my hunt for the perfect engagement ring I stumbled into a B&M Jeweler, I let the salesperson know I was considering buying online also. She advised me that "online retailers get the left over (less desired) diamonds that the jewelers don't want"

What reasons were you given to NOT shop online? (Should be interesting)

I've heard them all, mostly because I live in Australia they like to tell you it's unsafe you will lose your money and they can't be trusted.

I was told online stores would be lucky to give me 15 minutes of their time unlike the one on one relationship I could have with them.
