I am so excited to spend our first summer in the new lakehouse we bought last year. I am hoping to get to stay at least 6 weeks! Guess we'll see if the kids can stay away from their friends that long. Lol, I can dream, right?

Becoming a Brace Face at the age of 53 so my teeth can be put back in place from my fat tongue pushing them down.

Summer Pool Season.

Youngest son getting married in Nov. to a real sweet gal.

Hopefully older son getting engaged at some point to a beautiful Red Head. Been waiting YEARS for that.

Oh and celebrating Whiteflash's 20th year in the business, of which I have enjoyed 16+ years of.

@missy I am with you! I just want some peace and maybe boredom, and I hope you find yours this year too! It’s been a road for us both. ♥
I look forward to seeing an end to dr appts and being finished with the health issues that began two years ago this April.

Sending you continued healing vibes and good thoughts and lots of (((hugs))). You have been through the mill @Slick1 and are a shining star of strength, perseverance and good humor. You are an inspiration!

My eldest daughter's wedding. Unfortunately, her fiance got laid off, so that's a concern. As is their planned honeymoon in Italy. We're all wondering if that needs to be re-evaluated. We have our dresses at the seamstress, can't wait to see how they all turn out.

Hoping it turns out well @lyra and all the best to your DD and her FI for a happy and healthy future.

I've been sworn to secrecy but it involves me getting my 3.2ct N VS2 OMC ring sized down and my son taking it on a trip overseas next month with his wonderful girlfriend.

Ooh so exciting-wishing the happy couple all the best and what a generous mother/mother in law to be you are.:appl:

Yup, figuring out a few things and gaining some internal peace and calm seem like reasonable goals at this point.

Funny how more than a few of us are hoping for/looking forward to having some peace internally and externally.

My son transitioning back into school which I guess is exciting and anxiety provoking at the same time. Having some breathing space and time for myself on a regular basis will be an absolute godsend! Pray it works out!

Sending warm wishes and good thoughts to you and your son and it will work out.

Getting my diploma in May after a 12 year hiatus :o. It is so hard going back to school after such long break but I had to do it for me.

Wow, congrats @bibiloves, what a wonderful achievement at any age but it's more challenging when one is older and going back to school. Kudos to you.

Sounds wonderful and remember, you are the one in charge, not the kids. Just saying. You deserve it. :appl:

And worse comes to worse maybe you can invite their friends for a long weekend to satiate your kids desire not to be away from their friends for so long?

@missy - if you want a rescue cat people surrender Sphynx's all the time unfortunately, because they are at the higher care end of cats - they need to be cleaned or washed on a regular basis (Greg is now a pro at this after Ringwormgate ) and they love to be with their humans all the time unless asleep.

A lot of people that buy them cannot cope with their full on personalities... so google Sphynx rescue you will find them, there are groups like Rescue Me Sphynx in the US on Face book and other Sphynx rescue organinsations in the US, sometimes it is as simple as owners moving overseas or going into nursing homes that are forced to need Sphynx adoption as well....

It's so sad people don't research the animals they are considering adopting before adopting and then perhaps abandoning. :(

We did make a verbal agreement to (foster to) adopt Cookie if she is RW negative but if it doesn't work out I will evaluate this possibility. I would so love to rescue a Sphynx cat and I feel I am up to the task of caring for this more demanding cat. And I so love sleeping with a snuggly cat. Makes everything feel like it will be OK having a cat purr in your arms while you are sleeping.

And yes Greg is a pro at washing cats now lol but Oliver is almost impossible to manage now. He is like a bat (cat) out of he**. But we love him despite his challenging personality. He had a tough time of it the first 8 months of his life. It was a tough time for all of us but he was just a baby.

Thanks so much @arkieb1 for sharing and the info!

Sphynx's are always hot to touch even in summer they will want to sleep on you or under the sheets with you or sit on you, seriously I have a running joke if you own a Sphynx you will never, eat, sleep or go to the toilet alone ever again!!!

I know it depends on the specific cat @arkieb1 and I am not holding you to anything you might say but in your opinion would a Sphynx play with a domestic short hair cat (who I realize is not as intelligent as the Sphynx so not sure how they would get along)?

Well I really love my soon to be daughter in law, she's a great kid. And my son is in med school so he has no $. I have enough diamonds that I can spare one. It's a warmer diamond and it looks fabulous on her dark brown skin. Better than it did on my pale paws.

I’m looking forward to hopefully a good result from my echocardiogram in September. I have some issues that are concerning...I had to wait a long time to get the echo repeated to make sure I’m stable over time. It‘s on my mind every day. I do worry about it..I’m praying it will be good news and I’m okay and stable.

It probably depends upon how old the Sphynx was and the type of personality it has. Mostly I'd say yes we have Zig the bad tempered bad natured Burmese and we were worried that he would kill Bat but most of the time they get along just fine. Having said that we got Bat as a kitten and Bat is a hugger he loves everybody including Zig who mainly hates pretty well everyone and everything.

I've read about Sphynx that have been mistreated and not socialised, they are highly intelligent cats so yes I do think it is possible as with any cat to get one that might not like other cats or people as much as mine because of how it has been treated in the world. The key would be to ask or put your name down for a rescue Sphynx that gets along with other cats and one that is a lover not a fighter which most of them are.

These guys are like the full time clowns of the cat world, they love to be up high, they love to get into everything, they want to interact with you 24/7 but if they have been mistreated then of course they can come with their own set of problems. Sometimes breeders give their cats away (they retire them from breeding) - you can find Sphynx's that have been kept in tiny cages most of their lives, not ideal situations for super intelligent super active cats....
