I know I always say I cant see windows but even a blind man at midnight can see this one.

(anybody got other horror stones they've seen?)

Where is the window? All I see is a door...

MAC,
You should keep this as an example picture when others want to know what windowing is (or in this case, a bay door).

Okay, now that''s just bad when you not only see an enormous widow, but one like that in a diamond of all material.

It''s too bad since it would probably be a pretty stone if it were cut properly. It has great clarity, as indicated by how the window shows no inclusions.

Heh, it looks like they made a solid diamond halo. All you need is a stone cut to the shape of the center and you''d be good to go.

Now there's an idea

WTH....is it a slice? Diamonds are hard stones to ''window'' in general. My computer wouldnt open the pics on the auction so I am wondering what the profile view is!!!!!

Im surprised they are not trying to market it as cut like the darya-i-noor, a totally windowed stone that I would never turn down.

They don''t have a profile pic listed on the auction. I honestly can''t tell if that second pic is just another view from the top or it is a view from the bottom. I''m leaning towards the latter but with this cut I wouldn''t bet on it.

I''m guessing it really doesn''t matter if its the top or bottom.. in the listing it says its 8.1X6.3X2.6 MM.. wayy to shallow... lol I wouldn''t even want that if it was free...

Snowc,
A rose cut is typically quite shallow. It has a flat bottom (no pavilion) with a domed crown made up of triangular facets, with the style of cutting more glassy than flashy. I think it only has 12 or 24 facets.

I didn''t realize it was rose cut.. thats why then.. but still dont want that diamond!

I wouldn’t touch it either; I’ve seen far better rose cut diamonds that that, plus the colour is plainly unattractive in the first place.
