Hi pricescopers! Now that I am engaged and planning my wedding... I started thinking about my wedding band options. I did get to choose my diamond and engagement ring, but there is one thing I didn't consider...
My engagement ring has an 18K white gold band and platinum 6 prong head. It's a very skinny knife edge setting, so I imagine that my future wedding band will rub against the head metal more than the sides.
My first thought is to get platinum since I plan on wearing my wedding band CONSTANTLY and I know white gold can turn to yellow with repeated use of household cleaners, etc. and it will wear better with my platinum ering head. The only trouble is I can't afford platinum and (after doing much research) I would really like a palladium band. In the future I plan on getting a white gold anniversary band with diamonds in it -- but for now I want something more plain -- maybe with engraving.
So -- would a palladium wedding band be okay with a 18K white gold engagement ring with platinum head? I know about the color differences and I have no reserves about replating my ering.
Three metals on one finger... is that too much? lol
