Or should I say: To what magazines do you subscribe?

Just curious.

Mine:
Newsweek
The Economist
The Utne Reader
Scientific American Mind
Vogue

We subscribe to

- The New Yorker
- The Economist

I also loooove reading Vogue, W, and Dwell, but I can''t keep up with it all, so I don''t subscribe, just read ''em in the gym when they''re lying around.

Um.. I like fluff?

I subscribe to:
Us Weekly
People
Entertainment Weekly

I usedto subscribe to:
Bead Style (for jewerly making)
Star Magaizine (ok worst magainze ever I had to stop)

I'm toying around with the idea of subscribing to:
In Style

and I can't believe I didn't subscribe to wedding magazines when I first got engaged with the number of them that i've bought at this point. I buy TONS!

Mine:

The Economist
Sunset
Conde Nast Traveler
Travel and Leisure
Cooking Light
Consumer Reports

In Style
National Geographics
Popular Science - DH and I share
Popular Mechanics - DH reads this mostly, but, I occasionally do

Other magazines that we get:
Surf - DH and the boys
Sports Illustrated for Kids
National Geographic for Kids
Nic Kids
Family Fun

National Geographic

Sometimes I buy Delicious, which is a cooking magazine, but they also have a lot of recipes on line so often I just look there.

I find that with beauty mags I just end up consuming more items that I don''t want or need.

PlayGirl
The Naked Chef''s top Recipes
Um...
KIDDING.
I like Oxygen (keeps me motivated, and in shape)
Style at Home (I buy new furniture every two years, then I need to repaint that room, remodelling this..that and the other), great tips!

Our home receives:

Vanity Fair
Sports Illustrated
Golf for Women
Golf Magazine
Real Simple
Us Weekly
My alma mater''s alumni magazine :)
And I know it''s not a mag, but we subscribe to the local newspaper (I''m only mentioning it because in our age demographic, newspaper subscriptions are on the sharp decline...and uh, it looks like we read a lot of fluff, too

).
...

Next year, I''m definitely cutting out Golf for Women and Real Simple - maybe in favor of something like Bon Appetit or Food and Wine.

I know this is kindof thread-jacky- but has anyone received a copy of The Nest Magazine? We got a freebie and it seriously made me sick.

I subscribe to Fitness and Shape. What can I say? Im a workout fanatic!!!

Heh this thread inspired me to just subscribe to the other magazines I''ve been buying off the rack, its so much cheaper that way.

In Style
Inside Weddings
Brides, Modern Bride and Elegant Bride (all 3 for 23 bucks!)
Martha Stewart Weddings

I love fluff! I love magazines!

TIME

That''s it. And it''s only because my parents gave me their subscription. Sometimes I steal my mom''s subscriptions of Better Homes and Gardens, Southern Living and Cooking Light when I see recipes I like.

If I could afford it though, I''d subscribe to Cook''s Illustrated and Chocolatier.

Index on Censorship (quarterly)
Gems and Gemology (quarterly)
Dwell

i get
TIME
Real Simple
Backpacker
Relevant (fav)

i also get men''s health as a gift subscription because i got my stepdad a subscription for christmas. i don''t usually read more than one or two sentences in each though! i used to get AP, but it started to sort of suck. i''d like to get FI a subscription of geek magazine, but it''s too expensive! (all of mine were gifts!)

The only mag I have is Allure, which is geared toward women in their 20s and I'm 35. Way too old to be reading it, but I got a year of it for only $6, which one cannot beat!

ETA - I also get "The Nation," but I'm not sure if that qualifies as a magazine since it's a magazine with newsprint rather than glossy pages???

Cook''s Illustrated and about 5 or 6 medical journals.

The New Yorker
Dwell
The Atlantic Monthly
Granta Magazine
New York Magazine (guilty pleasure)

I subscribe to:

US Weekly (tee hee, I like fluff too)
Good Housekeeping
Sunset
Self
People

More like, which magazines DON''T I subscribe to?
3.gif

In Style
Vogue
Vanity Fair
Psychology Today
Newsweek
SHAPE
Sports Illustrated - We are sports nuts! But for rival teams IN EVERYTHING (Boston vs. NY)
31.gif

BF''s mother gave us subscriptions to:

NYTIMES - The Week
New Yorker
TIME
Travel & Leisure
Bon Appetite

23.gif
wow...too many. We like to share them with our building, this way they don''t pile up LOL

I let most of our subscriptions expire in the past few months, but before that...

ME:
Real Simple
Lucky
Domino
Allure
Shape
Self

DH:
Men''s Health
National Geographic

Nice to see some other Dwell fans!

I love that mag SO MUCH!

I have a thing for design magazines. Nate says that I need to get an interior design degree. SOme of these I get because it''s like a 2 for one deal. Like GQ and Details are like 20 bucks a year and then Home and Metropolitan Home are like maybe 20 because they have the same publisher. And I''m a sucker for magazine sales from the kids. I can''t help it. :)

Architectural Digest
HOME
Metropolitan Home (dropping this one)
GQ
Details
Esquire
Black Enterprise (Gift from my mom, but I really love it.)
Traditional Home
Southern Accents
Interior Design
Parents
Forbes
Money
Domino
House Beautiful (I really look forward to that one.)
Martha Stewart Weddings (I know y''all are thinking why.)
Men''s Health (Mostly for Nate.)
Golf Digest (Nate.)
Education Week
American Journal of Pediatrics (Nate.)
Black Issues in Higher Education
Conde Nast Traveler
Time

Nate gets medical stuff, but the only one I know for sure of is the pediatric one and I know because I read it. Not that I understand a lot of it, but I try.

I place a lot of value on reading. I''ve always felt like it''s such a privilege to be able to do so. I can''t stress it enough. Like, interior design is my hobby, but education is just a passion. Reading is kind of intermingled with that, for me.

National Geographic
Wondertime
Family Fun
Martha Stewart
Lucky and Glamour
SI
This Old House
Arthritis Today

That was a lot more than I realized. The boys had a school fundraiser earlier this year
1.gif

I only keep the National Geo and Arthritis Today mags and the rest get dropped of at the hospital when I am done reading them. I just leave them in waiting areas for others to enjoy.

Real Simple

That''s it, I love it so much!
BF subscribes to The Economist

I only subscribe to two magazines: Equus and Practical Horseman.

Wow, Penn, you should set up a little coffee shop in your home to share the magazine wealth! Neighbors can come over, have some java, read some mags.

I also get a bunch of literacy magazines for educators, but I don''t subscribe to any of them. They started coming when I earned my reading specialist certificate and they never stopped.

What is Dwell? I think the family we bought our home from had those magazine everywhere. I''m going to grab a copy today to see what this most popular glossy is all about.

Im to cheap to buy magizines and go to the library and check out many topics on antiques, collecting, current events, fashion, design, news and auctions.

I love magazines, especially ones that interest me lol. But seriously, I really like keeping up to date on the things relevant to me in life.
Magazines I subscribe to now :
Self
Fitness
Arabian Horse World

Plan to subscribe to :
Newsweek
Nature
and I want to find something with good current events coverage in business, markets, and politics??

Whoa this is a good one.... we subscribe to a lot as well!

Lucky
TV Guide
In Style
Martha Stewart Living
Food & Wine
Conde Nast Traveler
Money
Forbes
Entrepreneur
Smart Money
Domino

Dwell is a interior design magazine. I never really liked it enough to subscribe.

I would like to weed out some of them, but I''ll just end up buying them when I go to the bookstore, so it''s like pointless.
