Literally...can any of you tell me what kind of stone is in this ring? As you may guess, it’s flat, but it is really pretty.

She is correct, its no other than an opal mosaic!

Australian opal chips/slices to be exact placed together to create a puzzle with a possible black onyx backing (if the back of it feels cool like a gemstone).
What a unique piece!
