When my Husband and I moved in together we shopped for a new mattress since neither of us had a bed that was big enough for two people. His parents had a tempurpedic that we used while we watched their house for them. I really enjoyed it but not the "hot" factor of it. When we went shopping the store we went to had the tempurpedic and some other brand versions of it. The other brand was less than half of the price and wasn''t as "sinky" as the original which was fine with me. We finally got it and slept on it a few nights and it still made me hot as hell which drove me insane! One quick trip to Bed Bath and Beyond solved it! I got a really thick featherbed to put some distance between us and the mattress and a special mattress pad that was supposed to promote a cooler sleeping surface. Once those were on it was heaven! We have had our set for five years now and we both sleep like babies every night! The whole set for a queen size cost less that 1000 after the extras we bought. It is still the best 1000 I have ever spent!

I just don''t understand the ''hot and sweaty'' feeling that some of you experienced with your tempurpedics. Thankfully, we have never had any of that (egads, my DH wouldn''t be able to tolerate it!), and it can get REALLY HOT here in the summertime.

Yeah, we do find it warmer than a spring we just use a lighter duvet in the summer, and I love it in winter when my limbs would normally freeze. And I myself turn into a roaster oven when I sleep and while I find it warm, I do not find it hot and sweaty at all!

I love it. I have bony and pointy limbs/joints and as either a stomach or side sleeper it really cushions them so I don''t get sore spots or discomfort. DH just wishes it would also cushion *him* from *my* bony and pointy "needle elbows and knees" as he calls them when I spread out across the bed! Ha.

We replaced our king mattress/boxspring a couple of months ago with a Shifman brand mattress from their Masters Collection (Monet). It’s a hi-profile innerspring and hand-tufted. The boxspring is eight-way hand-tied.

I was not sleeping well on it and neither was the spousal unit. Actually, I woke up in pain every day. I chalked it up to being old, arthritis, etc., never thinking it might be the mattress. I slept in the guest room until the mattress arrived. Sleep is so much better now and an added bonus, no pain :) Oh, and it’s flip-able, another plus for us.
