We recently upgraded my e-ring for our 20th anniversary. I love my new setting - it is by A Jaffe and much of the appeal to me was the interesting prongs and side surprise diamonds. Now I''m wondering what type of wedding band should go with it - or is this meant to be worn alone? The new setting is white gold and my existing band is yellow gold so I can''t use what I have. Any suggestions?

Well...any band you wear you''ll hide one of the surprise stones. You could try for something very flat which would potentially still make the stone visible. No three sided pave because the diamonds will rub with your surprise stone. As I can see your ring is channel set you could get another channel set ring to match, or go with something that''s plain.

If you don''t want to hide the surprise stone you could always switch it to your right hand and wear a wedding ring only on your left.

I guess it would be fine to cover the surprise diamond on one side. It seems like I''ve seen many styles that have the surprise diamond or really intricate prongs and didn''t really think about how it would work with a band. Details!! Does anyone have pictures of e-rings/bands that have surprise diamonds on the sides. Here is another shot from a different view.

Top view.

My wedding band is 3mm. I kind of wish sometimes it was 2.5.. but I still love it :)

*eta.. I just noticed that the shadow on my diamond created a little heart.. AW!

Aw, I do see the little heart...that is so cute!

To the OP...your new ring is so pretty on it''s own, but I can totally understand wanting a band to wear with it. I would go with something thin whatever you do, either plain or with diamonds.

Your ring is so beautiful SanDiegoLady - the plain band really works well with it. I looks like your surprise diamonds sit up a a little higher so I might have more of a "covering up" problem.

I''m so used to my wedding set - it would be strange to only have the one ring (and I definitely want to wear it on my left hand) - I''ll just have to try some on to see what works!

Thanks!!
