What is wrong with this stone?

Hello,

I was looking at this stone, but it seems like it is priced lower then the others I have been looking at.
Is it because it is heat treated, or is there something wrong with the cut?

Yes, there is usually a good sized price difference between an untreated and a heated sapphire. Also yellow sapphires are always priced lower than a blue/pink/red sapphire of comparable quality. I do not see anything wrong with the cut. Granted, I dislike such a large table but that’s a personal preference.

I don''t see much of anything wrong with it. Yes, it was heat treated but that doesn''t detract from the impact of the stone IMHO. The cutting looks good although I don''t like the way the corners are cut on the pavillion. Straight up and down facets make it harder for the person setting the stone. Nice color, a little on the pale side I think but that''s just my opinion. A yellow gold setting would enhance the color of the stone and give it a more power yellow like I like. Overall I like the stone. Set in a YG ring I think it would be about as subtle as a kick in the shin and I''m all for that
