Why would this diamond not be a Signature Ideal Cut at BN? It is listed as an ideal cut with the following stats:

1.59-Carat Round Diamond
This Ideal-cut, G-color, and SI1-clarity diamond

Carat weight: 1.59
Cut: Ideal
Color: G
Clarity: SI1

Depth %: 61.9%
Table %: 56%
Symmetry: Ideal
Polish: Ideal
Girdle: Slightly thick to thick
Culet: Pointed
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 7.44 x 7.48 x 4.62 mm

I''ve been looking into the cost premium that goes with BN sig ideal cuts, H&A cuts, and HOF cuts. Are they worth it? and is there anything that I can look at that will tell me why a diamond didn''t meet the higher cut level.

Depth 61.9
Table 56
Crown 34.3
Pavilion 40.7

Scores a 1.0 on HCA

‘Signature Ideal’ in the Blue Nile system includes only stones that they own and that have been graded by their own preferred lab as well as GIA or AGSL. It’s entirely possible that this is one that would otherwise be eligible but that is being supplied by a 3rd party vendor and that lacks the pedigree to be marketed as a Signature Ideal.

Thritto Neil on why it didn't make SI.

As for are the H&A's premium worth it, I guess they are if you are one that prefers tip top cut. To some it is, to others it's not. You don't have to have H&A to have a pretty diamond. However, I would want to know for sure it is H&A cut, for the premium. BN gives no proof of that.

It looks like it could be a very nice stone, so if you wanted to check it out with an independant appraiser you could. BN has a good return policy if you decided not to keep it.
