We're moving. The new people move into our house tomorrow. We left our bed and the TV up until yesterday and were staying in the house. I'm out of town for work and last night was the first night no one was at the house. DH stayed with his parent. He went back over to the house this morning to finish up and discovered that someone had stolen our a/c condensor. Our frigging air conditioner! Stolen! On the ONE night we weren't there. What disturbs me most is that it HAS to be someone close and it means they've been watching us. It wasn't a small unit either. It was actually a highly efficient commercial unit we got a deal on. It was about 4.5 feet tall. We can't afford to get another like it- the deal was one that only comes along once......

Needless to say, a new unit is being installed with a cage right now, but it's $3000 I REALLY didn't need to spend. I am FURIOUS.

Oh April that really s^#ks :knockout: ! Will your Homeowners policy cover it? I know you probably still have a deductible but...
Definitly seems like it was someone watching you move. Please notify the police...not sure what they can do but
its worth a try. Hope the rest of your move goes better.

Did you call the police and report it stolen?

I asked DH if he called and he said he didn't know what they could do.... I also asked about insurance, but apparently he doesn't want to make a claim.

I'm just gonna go drink.

People are such @#$ holes!!! :angryfire:

Our new unit is in and is blowing cold air. The cage to secure it won't be in until Tuesday. I told DH we were sleeping there tonight. He said he wasn't sure. What and give the hoodlum another chance to steal a BRAND NEW UNIT.

I told a friend of mine I was going to need his two big dogs to sleep curled up around the unit tonight. Chester's 10lbs of fluff is not fierce enough.

Another friend told me earlier he had his stolen a couple years ago and insurance wouldn't cover it because it's considered vandalism. :nono: :angryfire:

When we were living outside of West Palm, there were many houses up for sale that had basically just been left behind as people moved away. This was a common crime down there unfortunately.

I'm sorry this happened to you :nono:
