Hi Everyone

I´m a little confused. I sent this picture to my jeweller who is going to make my engagement ring to ask him what the setting was for the sidestones in this picture and he said it was a squared shared prong setting. Is this correct? I thought it was some type of pave set with beads?

hmm, I would probably call that bead set pave...

I agree with your jeweller but that might be because I''m in the UK and we have different ways to describe things here!!! If you look, the diamonds are held using shared prongs in a squared shape.

To me it looks like a shared prong, because I have a bead set and it doesn''t really look like that. I could be wrong...

here are 2 michael b rings..the one on the left is beadset pave the right is fishtail pave..
the second pic is the sideview of the beadset pave ring.

I know Ritani sometimes uses the term "prongs" instead of beads in their pave rings...so it may just be a case of different terminology. As long as your jeweler understands what you want and can execute it the terms don't matter so much.
