Nice size, looks dark in the top photo, has eye visible inclusions but is transparent held up to light. I think it's a nice polish and cut but worry it might look dark in a setting.
This is a 20 carat lab created quench crackled ruby from Bangkok, cost me $16. Pretty scary, looks a lot like some that are in rings these days. I could have gotten any size. Smaller ones probably look even more natural. Buying ruby not for the uneducated these days.
It’s terrible what “they” are getting up to these days!
It’s really really hard to ID natural untreated rubies from the man made “altered” ones.
The gems look lovely and will wear well being “ruby” but you sure as hell don’t want to be spending $20,000 + + + for something worth $16!
Yes, exactly. There are an awful lot of larger rubies with diamonds in gold settings for thousands online. Between synthetic with inclusions to glass filled rubies many will be fooled. I will not buy unless it’s a vintage to antique if in a setting.
