What is this? GIA Comment Question

I received a GIA cert with the comment:

"FDC [symbol] CMLO-2332702a" is present on the girdle

it''s a princess cut - any idea what the comment is referring to???

That''s describing an inscription written on the girdle.

What exactly is the inscription on the girdle (FDC CMLO) means on a diamond? Is it a bad or good thing??

Neil is right.

It''s a manufacturer''s trademark and serial number, probably (I don''t recognize it). It has no bearing on the quality of the diamond. GIA lab is just reporting what is inscribed on the girdle.

Maybe someone here on PS can enlighten us further.

I wouldn''t worry at all. Having an inscription on the girdle will forever identify your diamond as your diamond.
