Prada. $350. I think sunglasses are an investment because you wear them on your face, and for a very long time.

My current Maui Jim''s were over $350. They have wire frames and glass lenses though. I really wanted a pair with glass lenses! They scratch far less easily and just FEEL classy. I bought them with some money I received for my birthday last year though so nothing straight out of pocket.

I do not like cheap sunglasses. They feel uncomfortable to me and I just don''t find myself wanting to wear them. And when I do, I am constantly breaking or losing them. My DH often says the first time he put some expensive sunglasses on after years of wearing cheap ones, it felt like he was wearing a Cadillac on his face...

. He has some Maui Jims too that he has had for a few years.

I however, am pretty careful with my pricey ones. The first pair of expensive ones I ever bought were some Oakley''s that I bought when I was about 19. They were about $250. However, I had them until I was about 25 and lost them in the ocean in Cuba. $250 spread over 6 years is not so bad. I waited five years to buy new expensive ones, and hope they last at least as long if not longer.

I have had a few sports sunglasses for running and cycling that I tend to be harder on though and won''t spend as much (i.e. less than $100) as I find I end up replacing them once a year or so.

I have Maui Jim sunglasses in glass and love the way they look and the lenses are so sharp to look through but they are too heavy for me after wearing them a while. They fit properly and don''t rest on my cheeks but they just feel heavy so not sure I would recommend them for wearing all day but just for short time periods.

I love my Revo sunglasses also.

I always prefer polarized sunglasses also over non polarized ones. It''s so clear and crisp looking through polarized lenses.

My Tiffany & Co. RX are by far my most expensive sunglasses. I think they retailed for about $600, but I got them for 30% off. Glasses are an important accessory - kind of a jewelry for the face. I am careful with mine, and I want them to look good

LOL, probably $15.

I lose and/or break them.

$20. I probably need to shell out for a pair that won''t give me a headache - but I might just go for cheapo aviators.

I really just couldn''t care less about sunglasses, though...As long as there''s something blocking the light, I''m happy.

Prada ... about $400.

My prescription sunglasses--the lenses cost about $100. The frames I used to have were a pair of Versace frames that were given to me by a friend who didn''t want them anymore; they probably cost around $300 new. Then they were stolen in Mexico, and now I just have some no-name frames from the optometrist that made my new prescription lenses.

A pair of Oliver Peoples sunglasses. I believe they were around $400. Fantastic quality and no logos on them.

My Chanels were 400, plus 280 for the prescription lenses!

Prescription sunglasses with polarized/everything lenses. I don''t recall how much they cost, but I''m taking verrrrrrrry good care of them!

Both my Kenneth Cole and Vera Wangs cost $450.- each with a 30% discount (because I''m a long time patient of my optometrist), but I have to wear prescription glasses. That makes it difficult to change my glasses as often as I''d like to.

Both of my current pairs are around $170. However, one pair has prescription lenses which added at least $200 to the price.

My current pair are Gucci and I think they were around $250-$300. Way more than I would have liked to spend, but I''m VERY picky about how sunglasses look on my face and it''s hard to find ones I like so I''m willing to pay a little more to find ones I like. I need a new pair, mine are probably 5 years old and beaten to poop. I found a new pair of Kate Spades that I love. I think they were around $150 or $180.

Oakleys for ~200, which I still have five years down

Hello, my name is Gailey and I am a sunglasses addict. I''m going to venture a guess and say that they all cost an average of $300. All none prescription.

This little collection does span some 20 years, so I guess it''s not too excessive!

Haha, my most expensive pair of sunglasses was $10? I mostly wear them on top of my head to hold my hair back so how they look on my face doesn''t really matter that much. Maybe if I ever find any that look utterly fabulous on my face, I''ll splurge, but if they''re all ''meh'' I''ll take the bargain ''meh'' ones.

I bought my DH a pair of Maui Jims a couple of years ago, $AUD290 (Glass, polarised). I went to buy myself a pair recently and was told that MJ have pulled out of the Australian market

So I ended up with a pair of Revo sunnies for $305. Then DH decided he like my Revo''s and wanted a pair for work, so another $300+ he wore them for 1 day and they aren''t suited to him/ his job, so he took the MJ''s to work. Tried to replace the Maui''s with a pair purchased from the U.S, but someone at customs decided they would look better on them

Luckily money was refunded, and we got a nice Maui Jim case for free!

I bought my first pair of expensive sunglasses in college I think they were $300, they were Prada and I lost them a few months later in China. I now have a really cute pair of Burberry and Armani glasses I got on sale for about $100 - and I always take samples I got for free on vacation just in case.

ETA: that reminds me I've always been uber careful since then and haven't lost another pair while DH constantly loses his. He lost his own Prada sunglasses just the other week!

I am so sad - today on the T ride home, my Kate Spade sunglasses broke. I felt them coming loose, and then they just fell off of my face! The piece of plastic that attaches to the hinge broke =(

They were prescription, so I think they were $250-$300 retail, but with my insurance ended up paying only around $100. Unfortunately, as I am now a student I no longer have vision coverage! So, even if I replace them with cheaper ones, since they are prescription (I don''t wear contacts) they will be really expensive.

Argh - I don''t know what to do! Boo!

Speaking of nice sunglasses, yesterday I bought these Maui Jim polarized sunglasses.
They are sooooo comfortable and the lenses are so clear, and the fit is like they were custom made for my face.
Made in Italy.
I couldn't believe the price.... only $79....at Costco.
These are not the most expensive I've had, but they are by far the best AFAIC.

The bad thing about glasses is it is so easy to scratch them.

This is why I will not spend more than $20 on a pair. I am way too hard on them to justify the price if I know they are going to get ruined by the end of the summer anyway. LOL

I would LOVE a really nice pair of designer shades but don''t trust myself enough to spend the money!

Ooh..very nice Kenny :) They are great sunnies aren''t they.. I keep trying to ''borrow'' DH''s, but he won''t give them up

Around $13. I''ve had such bad luck with the latest one''s I''ve gotten, (lens getting scratched up instantly, pulling out my hair in the hinges) I''m tempted by these $55? sunglasses at LL Bean. If I did that I''d get a case for them and try to keep them safe.

Once I worked in an opthamalogist office, and in our donation box for prescription glasses, someone had donated a pair of vintage non-prescription sunglasses. I could take them since they were going to be thrown out anyways, and they were my absolute favorite; semi translucent green frames with amber lenses. I took good care of them but still ended up losing them (forgot them on a bus) about 5 years later. That''s why I would never spend more than I could afford to lose on a pair.
