What is the most exciting thing you have ever done?

And what do you do now to get the adrenaline pumping?

I stepped into the middle of a fight between two big guys - strangers - who were itching to "prove" something. All I could think was "not in my neighborhood, you don't!."

I don't recommend this as a way to get your blood going!

Soaring in a glider was pretty good too!

A couple of weeks ago I bungee jumped off the Bloukrans bridge, the highest commercial bungee in the world. 216m...

Oh, and last weekend I abseiled (what you Americans call "rappel"?) down 60m next to a waterfall.

Next on my list: sky diving!

Swiming with whale sharks. Not really that scary, but just very cool.

Now? Nothing, I have a baby she keeps me busy, lol.

I went to India and worked at one of Mother Teresa's orphanages, it was a great adventure, life changing!
Also, the day my pup arrived from Argentina was one of the best days of my life. He was many years in the planning, lots of research, and patient waiting for my particular litter. So when he came bounding out of his kennel at the airport, happy, healthy and gorgeous, well I nearly bust with happiness :D

Backpacked around Europe for 2 months when I was 17 with just my twin sister and friend who was our exchange student.

Natural childbirth was the most exciting thing I have ever done. It was an awesome experience I think about often. It did get the adrenaline pumping, best high ever.

But I don't plan or desire to do it often ;))

Funny!!! I agree with the 'don't plan to do it often'!!!

I was on vacation 2 weeks ago and did the Heimlich manoeuvre on a choking man. I was the 3rd rescuer on him (the first didn't know how to do it, the 2nd had very short arms and this was a VERY big man) and I managed to get the item dislodged! He never lost consciousness and he was fine after. Bit bruised for the remainder of the vacation - as we could see down at the beach/pool!

In my whole nursing career, aside from delivering 9 babies while working in Labour and Delivery (okay, I guess I'd also consider those as 9 exciting events as well!) I've never been that close to saving a life. That got my heart pumping... it was surreal.

Well, the most exciting things I've done were also the most terrifying, and I don't think I'd be up for them again. A few years ago my husband and I went to Key West with my family. My husband and I went jet-skiing and then my sister and I went para-sailing. We were pumped up and so excited to finally be doing these things, but they were really scary.

I had homebirths and my last baby I delivered myself (midwife was in attendance-just standing back.) That was incredible.

Beyond that? Joining the circus.

I am afraid of heights but the helicopter ride over Kauai got my adrenaline pumping because the waterfalls and Napali coast are AMAZING!!!  :cheeky:

Oh I swam by a shark too, that had my adrenaline pumping. :errrr: Also swimming by massive sea turtles did the same; they are cool but kind of scary at the same time!! :o

I've done a few things

1) Got on a plane to visit a man who I had only known less than 2 weeks and met a few times to visit him in another country. Thankfully I didn't end up locked in a closet or something-we now are very happily married!

2) Sky diving. I hate heights but that was just SO COOL after I got over the initial shock of-I'M HOOKED TO SOMEONE WHO'S JUMPING OUT OF THIS PLANE!! (In fact in my video I have the camera guy the finger-I wasn't to happy with whatever he was telling me to do-I just wanted him to leave me alone! LOL!)

3) Scuba diving. It's just another world-peaceful-surreal-quiet-relaxing-just everything I never thought anything in life could be. Especially the cenotes (underwater caves). They had a sign with the grim reaper on it that said turn back or die (or something like that) thankfully I trusted my guide-but for my 3rd dive it was pretty adrenaline pumping! They also let me drive the dive boat-not sure how I managed to do that but driving a boat (not on the Mississippi) that was bigger than some houses I've seen-that high up-in the ocean with about 20 passengers underneath me who didn't know I was driving it was pretty awesome too!

4) I just read someone did a at home birth. I plan on doing that (at home water birth) when the time comes (not expecting) but I'm pretty sure that will be number one when the time comes!

Skippy, what's a helicopter ride like? Is it anything like plane ride or is it totally different? For some reason, I picture it being a different experience...turbulent or something, I don't know. Swimming near sea turtles must have been really cool.

I forgot to mention earlier, the only reason why jet skiing was exciting and nerve-racking and the same time was because we were told to stay between 2 buoys that happened to be between 2 massive boats. My husband and I both wear glasses, and with the water spraying in our faces the whole time, we couldn't see anything. We completely lost sight of where we were and where we needed to stay. If we go jet skiing again, it'll be on more open water, far, far from anything we could potentially hit.

This!

Exciting - yes it was! It was also the scariest ever thing I have done in my life!! It was a long time ago now (around 23 years ago... where did the time go??!!) but even now as I uploaded the picture my tummy did the double flip thang!

Nowadays...my adrenaline rush comes from sauntering around the town for an hour or so! Or picking out some fabric for curtains! oh how the daring have fallen!!

A helicopter ride over Glacier National Park. I was facing away from the front. My husband pointed for me to turn around and look and we we heading right for a mountin peak. It was scary and fun at the same time. They had 30 and 60 minute flights and we picked the 30 minute ones because we thought I might freak out. We loved it so much the last day we were there we called to see if they had any 60 minute rides available that day.

Yes he is! My avatar made his muzzle a bit pointy though, lol. I'll have to figure out how to take pics from Photobucket and post them here, I tried once with other photos on Photobucket with no success :knockout:

Zoe here is a pic from the helicopter! It is really incredible because it can get really close to things where planes aren't allowed to get so close. They can hover for awhile or you can stop and look at mountain goats. When we went to Alaska I wanted to do a helicopter ride over a glacier but long story so we couldn't. You should of seen me before we actually did it; I kept changing my mind whether to do it or not. They actually had a helicopter ride that had no doors :o Okay that one I knew I could never do; I needed doors! Here is are a couple of pics from the ride.

Oh I went jetskiing in San Diego with friends. I was soooooo scared; I kept thinking I was going to fall off it when we went fast! I can see how that is scary and I TOO will NEVER do it again!!! I don't blame you ;))

Marcy, that sounds so cool! :cheeky:
thanks Amy :wavey:

Hiked in the Amazon jungle. Hyoooooge bugs. HyoOOOOOOOge. But I'm not an adrenaline junkie and prefer less harrowing adventures.

I had a baby :)

Dammit I'm dull dull dull! Got married, had a couple kids, got a bunch of tattoos, flew in airplanes three times. That's..yeah that's about as exciting as it gets for me.

We've done two really exciting things... I took him for a flying lesson for his birthday one year... We flew around with an instructor, and Fi actually got to fly the plane himself for a while. Very cool! Second, I think I'd have to say it would be our helicopter tour over Vegas at night. It was AMAZING!

At the time I didn't think it was a big deal, but when I was in high school we decided to get an aerial photo of the school for the yearbook, so I went up in a two-seater plane with one of my friends/classmates. He had his pilots license for about 2 years at that point and it wasn't until we were airborne that I thought, "Wow, this is a bit exciting!"

I'm not a thrill seeker by nature. I'm a "if the sign says stay on the path, I value my life enough to stay on the path" sort of person. Even so, I've managed to go whitewater rafting and parapenting in the Austrian Alps. The parapenting definitely got my heart going, it was amazing though and the views were TDF.

I'd like to go skydiving, if the opportunity presented itself. I'd never, never, NEVER go bungee-jumping though. Watched it on a program last night and was having heart palpitations just seeing it on tv!
