I feel like there is always (at least) one stone on my ever-growing wish list. Sometimes the items that are on my list actually exist and sometimes they have yet to be cut or discovered! For example, right now I have been eyeing this 6.30 carat Iolite from Roger Dery
iolitetrillioncab_6_30ct_1346.jpg

and I have been searching high and low for several months for a violet/violetish blue 3+ carat Spinel with no results or "leads".

Does anyone else have a wish list?

I love this JD Tsavorite and have been eyeing it for some time. The colour may not be everyone's cup of tea, however, it looks gorgeous to me; 2.25ct, precision cut, 9.33 x 7.15 x 4.82 mm:

Fingers crossed that it is still available in a year's time when I may, just may, be able to afford it by then.

DK

That is a gorgeous stone DK! I totally understand why you like it.

I'm in the mood far a large cabochon in a Marc Williams style bezel. Something affordable, maybe opaque.

I currently have one main stone on my wish list...a large pink cushion cut sapphire. I'd also like a precision cut royal blue sapphire.

1. An indicolite or teal tourmaline
2. A largish 8mm+ asscher cut green tourm for my sister (she loves my Gene tourm!)
3. A bright saturated precision cut 7.5mm+ round sapphire for e-ring (no I'm not engaged yet but I feel its approaching  )

Neil these rings look delicious!

Great wishlists everyone!

On my wishlist: the perseverance to stick with my ban principles, especially when I see such inspiration as in this thread.

Niel- Gorgeous cabs and settings! They look so luxurious.

NKOTB-I think that a large pink Sapphire would go quite well your pair of pink Sapphires from Gene :naughty:

Ricezo-Larger precision cut Sapphires can be tricky to find but the prospect of using it for an e-ring is so exciting!

Acinom-I totally get it. I keep putting myself on a ban and then failing.

Have you been in touch with Gene about his large pink sapphire project? ;)

Ahhhhh, ricezo! :appl: Way cool and exciting! :D

My wishlist is comprised of two things: a Mahenge spinel and some sort of asscher-cut gem (which I have yet to figure out the material).

Yay!! How exciting for you Ricezo!!! And how wonderful that you will choose a CS as an engagement stone... A precision cut Sapphire   Will you do a search or will you have it custom cut? Happy anticipation :wavey:

Tsavorite Garnet
Montana Sapphire
Paraiba Tourmaline (I can dream right? )
Opposing bar cut Indicolite Tourmaline
Grey (either light or dark) Spinel
Sphene
Spharelite

Those are the main ones. But I've never seen a pretty stone I could say no to. ;)

I have indeed. ;)

i'm on a ban right now but here is my wish list.

Large saturated blue tanzanite cushion cut oblong >3 carats
Cushion cut unheated, untreated Winza ruby (i would come of the ban for this)
a larger Colombian emerald (my infrequently worn e-ring is Colombia (and so is my husband :-) )

A non paraiba cuprian - maybe violet or pink color
A cushion cut yellow stone - pure yellow without green or brown modifiers
Luc Yen Violet Spinel
5 or 7 tanzanian kornerupines in different colors for band ring
A light baby pink oblong something
A tanzanite with 2 colors (eg green and blue)
A dioptase cab with lots of color variation
A large oblong cushion untreated smoky quartz or champaign zircon
some large saturated kyanites for earrings

This is a fun thread!

Thanks SparkliesLuver. That's exactly the color I want. I saved the picture so if it's gone when the ban lifts I can use it to describe what I want. I'm pasting the picture here too

You're welcome. I still have no idea why it hasn't sold, but ... hopefully it'll still be there when your ban is over. :shifty:

Acinom's sugarloaf Paraiba has me wanting one badly.

This is a fun thread!

You have an excellent taste!!!

I love tanzanian chrome kornerupine! The play of color - purple, green and blue as a mix....
It is a shame that they are so small and rare!!

Dioptase will be a challenge too.

Good luck!!

What is his "large pink sapphire project?"

I'd really want a clean Columbia emerald, 2ct range.
a clean neon blue paraiba tourmaline, 2-3ct range.
and a clean eye poping red jedi spinel, 2ct range.

ultimately I wish to buy an eye clean 3ct pigeon blood ruby with strong fluorescence and excellent light return. It can be Mozambique origin. A 4ct clean burmese blue sapphire with good cutting.

I don't see any of these happening though...... :(sad

In general, trillion shapes are less desirable by consumers, so often they will sit around, even if the rest of the stone (size, color, cut) is highly desirable.

In addition to the tsavorite, I would also like a Paraiba tourmaline cabochon, and a small round 6-7mm raspberry red stone.

DK :))

I believe he posted a picture on Twitter. He bought a large, poorly cut hot pink sapphire in AZ earlier this year. It'll have a hefty price tag, but I'm sure it'll be spectacular when he's through with it.

ETA: added image.

This is a fun thread! I'm very new to CS but I have my heart set on a cushion shaped pink stone (8 to 9 mm) and would like to set it in a double halo setting, along the lines of the Tiffany Soleste. Not going to happen anytime soon but a girl can dream.

I can't get any of these out of my head! Too bad I am on a buying ban until after my daughter's wedding.

1 big (BIG) blue zircon. Nothing less than 6cts, must be glow in the dark deep blue. Not impossible to find but you know...price and all......lol

1 big red cab. Not sure what type, but must be RED

1 big yellow tourmaline. Must be yellow, must be tourmaline. I'd take it as a cab if it were the right yellow.
