What is Old is made New: Pink tournaline in Art Deco setting

I've been swamped with family responsibilities (darned Thanksgiving break ) and work that I did not have the time to post my new/old ring. Old in that I've had the stone for 3 years unset and the setting for 6 years unset. The two are now married and a new couple. I've posted a question of whether a hot pink stone looks out of place in an antique Art Deco setting but no longer.

Two seemingly different looks which I can attest are true to life; one is indoors, the other outdoors.

I'm just so proud of myself in that I managed to get clear pictures of the tourmaline. Usually, it is all fuzzy but I can actually see the kite facets. Wohoo!

Two faraway hand shots under slightly different lighting conditions but the stone still performs and the setting makes me swoon. It's pretty old so the engraving isn't as crisp but I still love it. It is blingtastic to me.

The picture fest is now over and I am tapped out.

Chrono -- seeing this ring made me think of your sapphire ring that is giving you such heartache. The pink tourmaline looks quite small -- what are the dimensions? If it is approx the same size as the sapphire why does this ring work for you and not the sapphire one?

I thought 8 pictures would be sufficient. Depending on the weather, I might brave the chilly winter air again later in December.

The Elms,
The pink tourmaline is 6 mm, the blue sapphire is 5.7 mm or thereabouts, just a smidge smaller. I'm starting to wonder if it is because the setting is too delicate / small for my taste.

Oh what a gorgeous ring Chrono! The color of that tourm is TDF and I think it looks great in that setting
