On the comments of a stone I was looking at under ''clarity characteristics'', it mentions ''feather''. This is on a princess cut with VS2 clarity rating. What does that mean in terms of structural integrity (ie: is it more prone to breaking?)?

For some reason, the GIA cert doesn''t include one of those graphics that shows you where and what kind of damage there is. are there different types of GIA certs?

A feather in a GIA graded VS2 shouldn't be a structural problem. You can have a certified appraiser look at the stone and give you the pros and cons of the individual stone.

You probably have a GIA Diamond Dossier (a report which does not show a plot/sketch)
Very common on under 1 carat sizes... (although GIA issue''s them these days up to 1.99 carats)

There is plenty of material on this subject..., If you want to read... just type the word in the search box.

Generally, a feather does not add any danger to the diamond. Especially not a VS type feathered inclusion.
