Cute!! I rather like rats - probably because at my school we used to have an animal house and they had baby rats in there. Although there was quite a rotation and I suspect they might have been sending them as fodder to the reptile side….

One morning before school my daughter come running in from the garden and shouted “Ratatouille is in the pool!” She had a Ratatouille plushie so I assumed she had dropped it in there and went outside to fish it out. In fact we had a huge grey live rat swimming in our pool. They swim amazingly well. It was stuck in there so we laid a towel down as a kind of bridge and it scampered out.

My best friend at school had a pet rat and it used to run round the breakfast table and eat the bacon ring off the plates. It was very intelligent and affectionate. The feral ones probably aren’t the same though.
 
If a rat pops up the toilet whilst I am seated, I'll definitely not be the one who is traumatized.
