Personally, I hate the fall and winter (I''m a summer girl; I get cold VERY easily, so I despise fall because it means winter is next). I love the 90 degree weather, hot sun, and sweltering humidity. I live in NJ, so fall is out in full force!

However, I ADORE the smells of fall...pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, the crisp air, etc. I get so excited when the limited edition fall Febreeze and glade plug-ins come out, lol.

So, what id you favorite thing, if anything, about fall?

mums, crisp air, colorful trees, sweaters and jeans, football games, kicking leaves, going on a hayride at a pumpkin patch, picking apples, going to the cider mill and getting those greasy doughnuts, those beautiful dark clouds especially against a blue sky with some sun, carmel apples, decorating the house for Halloween, candy corn, making soups, spaghetti squash with brown sugar, and the list goes on...

Fall is my favorite time of the year!

Ohhh fall in Michigan! My favorite season!

I love:

Fall clothes
Caramel Apple Ciders from Starbucks
The smell of the air
Cider Mills with delicious cider and donuts
Falling Leaves
Cooler weather
Halloween
Candy Corn

Pretty much everything about fall I love. I''d love it if it were fall all year round.

I am in FL, so we don't get a true Fall here until later, but I love the low humidity (and not having to worry about my hair frizzing out!), making pumpkin bread, candy apples, decorating, the smell in the air, football games, making warmer meals like homemade chili and cornbread, taking our son to the pumpkin patch, yummy smelling lotions and soaps that are just around in the fall, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and not sweating all my makeup off after a few minutes in the sun!

Love Fall

Crisp air

The leaves turning shades of red and orange

No clouds in the sky...

Snuggling under a blanket...

Breaking out my cashmere sweaters..

Pumpkin bread, and ginger snaps..

Hot apple cider.

Candy Corn...

Getting up.

I love stepping on acorns. I don''t know why, and it''s probably so weird to like it.. But I love that crunch!

Not white nights, but white mornings.

It''s funny: I''ve moved back to NY from CA, and almost all of the comments that I get are along the lines of "Don''t you miss the sun?" And, with all due respect ... NO! I missed the LIGHT, in the awful short Cali buildings of one, two stories, tops, but the sun? Not so much. I''m DELIGHTED to have changing seasons back, but that special grey autumnal light just makes my breath catch in my throat ....

Oh, everything.

The smells, the crisp air, the beautiful falling leaves, apple picking, sweaters with down vests, did I mention the smells?

I love everything Elledizzy and Lovewhitediamonds mentioned. I absolutely love all the different shades of leaves as they change colors too. Plus my birthday is in the fall which means lots of presents :)

I LOVE the fall, sweaters, my birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, football, the crunch of leaves under your feet, warm snuggly boots, hot cocoa, the list goes on. YAY fall!

I love:

warm sweaters,

hot apple cider

the smell of the air outside. It is almost a stillness. Things are quiet.

Of course, if we ever get to wear a warm sweater in California that is another thing.

Fall is my favorite time of year. Summer is tooooooo hot.

I like fall because summer is just too hot sometimes for me. I love the crisp air, and that slight chill that makes you want to wear jeans and sweaters. I love when the leaves start changing colors. I love that cozy feeling in my apartment when DH comes home and we both put on comfy shirts and sweatpants and cuddle under a blanket. I love Starbucks hot chocolate (and just drinking regular hot chocolate at home at night). And this weather reminds me of the baseball playoffs every October which is always a pretty exciting time (I''m a big Yankee fan!)

I''m actually excited for fall and love the weather right now, as long as it stays just chilly and doesn''t get downright COLD too quickly!!

I love jeans and sweaters and wearing all of my suede jackets. I love the crispness to the air, changing my Yankee candles to everything that smells like baking, cinnamon-y, spicey, brown sugary things; buying pumpkins, doing more baking again (yummmm), cooking winter foods, and a BREAK FROM FISHING SEASON and that damned tournament schedule! Come on November! The hubby stops fishing right before Thanksgiving.....

Walking outside into one of first cool days-- the smell of the air and the little shiver you get.

Seeing little kids getting bundled up and playing. I think it is so cute when their little arms won''t lie flat because of the puffy jacket!

The food -- soups, stews, warm bread, and other comfort-cozy foods! Delicious!

And finally, pumpkins! I love all kinds -- the little one, the big ones, the squat ones. I just think they are cut. I''m a dork

I love:
The crisp air, being able to sleep with the windows open and bundling under the covers
Halloween is my favorite holiday
The colorful trees
Pumpkin pie... yum ... and turkey
the World Series (GO PHILS!)
My birthday, although that seems to get less exciting as the years pass

The smells

Crisp fresh air, crisp, brightly colored leaves...and fresh donuts and cider at cider mills! Fires in the fireplace...snuggling up with a good book...lighting candles...and my birthday!!

Whoops, forgot to mention, HOCKEY SEASON!!!

I love that smell in the air when people fire up their wood burning stoves

Fresh crisp air

Colors!!!

Reading threads like this.
Changing my avatar.
Carving pumpkins with friends/family and roasting the seeds.
Breaking out the sweaters and scarves and tights and down vests (like Haven said).
Crunching through fallen leaves.
Hot cider spiked with cinnamon, orange slices, and a shot of brandy or whiskey/bourbon/similar spirit.
Fall festivals, haunted houses, hayrides, bonfires.

Oh yes definitely!! We''ll be using our fireplace soon. It''s such a warm and cozy feeling when it''s lit.

Sleeping better in cooler temps. The colors are pretty. Honestly I wish I loved fall; I try and embraces it though.

sweaters
boots
comfy jeans
smell of harvest
smell of apples
smell of pumpkins
tractors
fall scented candles
earlier darkness
nights by the fire
colored leaves
playing in leaves
morning frost

so many things I just can''t list them all

I''m so happy fall is here!!!

I love the crisp bite to the air after the long, hot, muggy summer. I love the colors of the leaves and the smell in the air. It is my absolute favorite time of year. Just thinking about it makes me happy.

Carving pumpkins
Fall colors
Crunching through fallen leaves
Coats
Cozy scarves and sweaters
Flannel PJs
Corn mazes
Halloween costumes
Apple cider
Going back to hot coffee (Pumpkin Spice Lattes!)
Thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas again

A break from the heat and the crisp weather is my absolutely favorite thing about fall - i love it! Other things i love are festivals around halloween, halloween itself, and falling leaves.

what i hate about fall (not that you asked) - FOOTBALL....and FI''s insanity about it. Drives me nuts

What is my favorite THING about fall??? As if I could pick just one. . . .

l) Leaves: falling/colorful/whirling in the breeze/making a carpet on the ground.

2) A relief from the heat of TX in the cooler breeze. See, in TX we have 4 seasons: HOT, Not So Hot, Not Really Hot, and Comfortable. Here in the middle of the state we occasionally experience cold. Once in a blue moon, we get ice or snow. But mostly we get comfortable. Until we get HOT.

3) The slant of the sunlight.

4) The smell of the air.

5) Pumpkins. Mums. Guords. Indian corn. I decorate for fall. Big time.

6) Clear blue skies, and usually lower humidity. (Not necessarily the case this year, however.)

Fall is my favorite season. Even when I was a Midwesterner, and I knew darn good and well what ''delightful ''weather lurked around the corner, I loved fall.

DH loves it because he says it''s arrival means we get at least 5 months of tolerable temperatures.

I love the colourful burnt orange and red leaves, yummy hot choc with whipped cream and warm snuggly cardi''s

I grew up in the midwest and fall was always one of my favorite times of year. I love the leaves changing, the smell in the air, and wearing a light jacket. I also like fall because it means that the holidays are near.

I HATE the summer. I adore all things fall & winter. Favorite thing about the fall - it makes you feel alive, whereas 90 degrees makes you feel near dead.
