I wish I had a pic... My friend's Pit Bull decided he didn't like being locked in the bedroom, and literally scratched and ATE half the door!! The whole bottom of the door was missing, and there was Bubba, sitting downstairs like nothing ever happened!

This lil' lady has chewed through at least 10 pairs of flip flops (I don't bother buying them anymore), 6 tubes of burt bees pomegrante chapstick, a few cords (but she stopped--maybe she got a little shock?), and a boyfriends watch band. :(

My cat was angry with me for staying out all night and he walked up to my Dunkin Donuts iced coffee on the end tale and swatted it to the floor causing a huge stain that was the reason I did not get all my deposit money back at my last apartment.

My younger cat ate an expensive shoe, much like a dog would.

I was dogsitting for 5 Dobermans and one of them got up on the credenza and dragged my purse down and ate the strap, ruining it. This was quite a feat as he was born with only 3 legs. There were Dunkin Donuts napkins in the purse and I think they smelled like donuts.

Now that's my kind of dog! The breeder of my Newfoundland and I were swapping stories and she told me of a dog owner whose dog had eaten much of a flight of stairs. Apparently she was married to an architect and proudly told him the dog hadn't done any structural damage.

Glad to know that my dogs aren't the only ones to destroy furniture.

Neither Byron nor Bo are "chewers". But they both did go through a phase.

Byron ate our wedding cake. Not as bad as the Dane in the pic...in fact, Byron just had one bite, but not a pleasant surprise a half of an hour before you walk down the aisle. We fixed it, it was fine, and now it's one of my favorite Byron memories.

Byron also chewed the arm of a sofa--I hated the sofa, so I didn't mind so much. My husband did not want to get rid of the sofa, so I bought a slipcover for it. It still sits in our family room. I still hate the sofa.

Ahahaha! Yeah, that's totally something Bubba would have done... (He's mellowed out a lot with age)

And she looks so sweet and darned innocent Meg! LOL!

Yeah, she normally is until we find her stach of chewed up gum or paper behind the couch. I don't understand why she doesn't get the concept of not eating my flip flops, She likes to chew the straps or pull off strap supports from the bottom, making them unwearable.

Other than that, her damage is ugh... pretty average for a 4 pound dog, no door eating or sofa eating, thank god.

These stories are great!

The dog eating the wedding cake has got to be one of the best pictures ever.

My little Bailee massacred several fall woodcreatures in 2009. It was a huge tragedy. I posted the mock article that I sent out to friends about it here on PS:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/true-story.127356/#p124728

Other than that, the only things she's ever destroyed (that I can recall) were some books right before the woodcreature incident. We obviously weren't completely finished training her back then. She's a little angel now.

When our kitties get hungry they gnaw on just about anything--cords, plastic, my handbags. We made treat toys for them just a few months ago to stop the habit, and it's working thus far. We took old water bottles and cut some tiny holes in them, and we put a handful of kibble in each at night. They eat a raw diet otherwise, so the kibble is a treat to them. They spend hours pushing those bottles around with their noses trying to get the kibble out.

The most Chester has destroyed is a magazine. However,I have a friend whose dog ate his passport!! The dog has technically comitted a crime. It cracks me up to think about the dog eating the passport into bits!

Haven, that was a seriously funny thread and great to see again. It's the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread!!

That was very funny Haven! I got a good chuckle!

We have pretty much one wee demon animal and two well behaved cats. Rat, is, of course, the 7 lb feline tornado of destruction.

Partial list of Rat's conquests: A full length leather coat, which Rat sharpened his claws on as a bebe kitty. A lovely blown glass tumbler my BIL made for me for Xmas, which Rat hockey-pucked totally on purpose (with an expression of pure kitty devilment on his furface) because I wouldn't let him drink out of it. Any flowers or plants that come home- they are automatically considered Rat food, and he will eat whole leaves and then regurgitate them whole just for fun. He's also scratched about $4,000 of leather furniture into oblivion.

Wait, I lied. Sonar (Rat's 20 lb sister, who looks resembles a good natured stripey beachball with feets, ears and tail) ate a chair once. I'm not kidding- we had no idea she was doing it, but the chair was apparently stuffed with some sort of cotton batting she found quite tasty. So she would crouch in the gap between the chair and the wall and... tunnel. She ate out the entire back and underside of the chair before any of us caught on; we thought she was just hiding under there. One someone sat in it and CRUNCH. Chair died. Sonar ate it. Apparently she was unharmed by eating the chair- this was about 15 years ago when she was not quite grown. (Least she picked an ugly chair to eat.) This is one reason we get leather upholstery- she can't eat it!

No pics of the evidence unfortunately. Wish we'd taken one of the chair, that was... unique.

My dog must be weird. He still has most of his toys from puppyhood (he's 4). If one of his toys has a hole/tear in it, he'll put it on my side of the bed and leave it there. Then he'll go over to it and lick it as if he was trying to heal it. Then I bring out the sewing basket and fix it and he'll take it and put it in his bed and sleep with it.

I once made the mistake of throwing out a stuffed piggy that had a ton of tears that I just could not fix anymore. He kept searching the house for it and would get up during the night to look for Piggy. I then went out to Petsmart and bought a new one. I now keep several of the same favorite toys just in case.

soocool-Your story about the toys and having to buy duplicates rang a bell and I was racking my brain trying to remember which of my pets might have caused me to have to do that! Finally the penny dropped; it wasn't a dog, it was my daughter when she was a toddler! She used to become hysterical if someone couldn't find her yellow bath toy or one of the toys she absolutely needed, so we had duplicates at our house and her grandparents' house!
