Hi everyone!
I was thinking of how much I need to do and how I should start getting some little things done, so I wondered how everyone else is coming along.

When is your wedding date and what have you done so far? What''s left on your list to do and do you already know when you will do these things?

Hey dixie

well, i always feel like i am a little behind. My wedding is July 1st -almost exactly 3 months away....i have everything booked per se, but i have SO many little details to sort out...what songs will my band play? what flowers will I use for the center pieces? What dresses will my BM wear (we have bought 5 for them off the rack, but not i am not so sure about them, eeek), there are tons and tons of details to be covered, but i try not to get too overwhelmed b/c i feel that if at least everything is booked, it''ll happen one way or another....

how are you coming along?

My wedding is 9/8/07. So far we've booked the ceremony and reception (same place), the dj, the florist, the officiant, photographer, and videographer. We have our tasting at our location tomorrow and we're also meeting with a baker and hopefully booking them tomorrow as well. I've also scheduled my first fitting and booked the honeymoon.

I still need to find someone for hair and makeup and finalize details on just about everything

. We also need wedding bands. We have them all picked out, but haven't bought them yet.

ETA: after reading Sum's post, I realized how much I forgot to include! I have my dress and undergarments. Bridesmaid dresses have been bought. Flower girl dresses have been bought. All tuxedos have been reserved. And we still need to do invitations, but we can't until after the tasting since we need to include choices. Oh yeah, and we have room blocks, but need to book our room for the night of and possible 2 rooms for the night before.

Our wedding is November 3, 2007, and so far we have...

Dress ordered
Hubby''s Band is at home and engraved

Church, reception, officiant, dj, florist, hair, photographer are all booked.

My shoes are bought, the tiara, veil, and jewelry are bought.

Favor boxes, ribbons and centerpiece items are all bought.

minimoon is booked and paid for.

Cake company is booked, the design/flavors are left.

Flower girl dress is purchased, MOH and male wedding party outfits are not.

We still have to finalize guest list, send out the STDs (Which we have already), get my ring, my fittings, the ring pillow and invites. We need to decide which songs to dance to, but other than that, we''re good.

Wedding will be Feb ''08

- Got engaged - check

- Booked the place - check!

That''s about it! hehe....

Things coming up:

- We are still deciding the bridal party, but have pretty much figured out who we''re asking. I''m letting the girls wear whatever they want...I will just tell them the color (but I don''t care if they have different tones, different kind of dresses, etc).

- I have an appointment with the Priest Tuesday night to talk about what we need to do on that front.

- We are looking at hotels in the area next week so we can block the rooms.

Heh. I''ve done nothing, sort of! My wedding is probably in Sept 2008.

I''ve done a lot of research. I''ve picked my dress, but not ordered it yet (waiting to buy shoes). I''m almost sure about the reception location (both my mom and I are in love with it) but fiance and dad want to look at other places this weekend. I''m really hoping for a finalized date and ceremony/reception location early next week.

I''ve been in contact with caterers getting quotes.

I''ve made an appointment with my dream photographer. I''m 95% sure I''ll go with her.

Oh, and I''ve cut out a lot of pictures of bouquets and stuff. I''ve thought about vows and such. We''ve talked about decorations. But nothing is finalized.

July 28, 2007-Just under 4 months to go.

My wedding isn’t very traditional so I didn’t have to worry about many of the things that some of you do. There’s no true wedding party, just a best man and a MOH who will be wearing whatever they want. And it's across the country so I was kind of forced to get almost everything done in two visits. So here’s what’s done:

Chartered the boat for the wedding and reception
Rented B&B for weekend lodging and alternate location (in case of weather)
Booked Caterer-tentative menu chosen
Booked Cake baker-tentative design chosen
Booked photographer
Dress purchased-it was a sample sale, no fittings necessary. I just need to have a bustle put in.
Shoes and jewelry chosen (I think-I keep changing my mind)
Plane tickets bought
Silk flowers (my bouquet, corsages, and boutonnieres) finished
Ordered his ring today
Save the dates sent
DIY invites, RSVPs, and directions are printed but need to be assembled when pocketfolds arrive
Registries set up, mostly done
Honeymoon booked

Still to do:
Order my ring
Figure out car rental logistics
Finish iPod playlist and make back-up CDs
Find a longline bra/corset that actually fits…argh…I think this is the hardest thing on the list!
Finalize menu and cake design
Put together favors (little Nantucket Basket candle holders)
Figure out hair and makeup
Get him fitted for tux rental
Finalize ceremony with our friend who’s officiating
Decide what to do for out-of-towners the night before since there’s no official rehearsal dinner.
Find a babysitter for guests' kids

The Knot probably has a bunch more random things listed that I'm forgetting, but I don't tend to sweat the small stuff. It'll get done.

Well, I thought I''d update this thread or at least hopefully I can update some of this stuff... hmmmm, let''s see:

3 other bm''s need to order their dresses - I know 2 have and the 3rd hasn''t mentioned it but I''m not asking anymore
book the violinist - not yet, still working on it
pick someone to be in charge of ipod related matters - done!
give details to bakery - not yet, finalizing my cake choice
pick flowers and florist/internet purchase - flower trial -still working on this one
block hotel rooms - almost done w/this one
decide if I want sashes on the bm dresses, if so, buy fabric and have bm make them.. maybe - haven''t thought much about this but prob. no sashes other than the one''s that come w/it
flower girl dress - done and I love it!
men''s attire - we decided on suits but still need one for my son and FI in charge of picking ties
buy vases and candles for centerpieces - candles bought, will buy vases in the next month or so
buy undergarments and shoes for dress - shoes bought, went to try on bra''s but no decision yet
finish registry - working on that
decide on transportation after the reception - probably just use his car but not officially decided
decide on where to stay after reception - probably just stay at our house since we''re not leaving until 2 days after
book officiant - done!
invites-buy and compile, cake topper, ring pillow and various other purchases - bought invites
wedding rings - will do this month
wedding party gifts - haven''t thought much about this but probably frames for the parents
cookie favors trial- not yet
hair appt trial - not yet
figure out what to have in the actual ceremony and write vows - working on it and making progress
dress fitting - not yet but soon
rehearsal dinner - will have at our house and my brother will help cook
marriage license - too early
honeymoon - flight booked, hotel for 1st part booked

So where''s everyone else on their planning?

We got engaged
We chose October 2008 as the month
I made my list, he made most of his list
I pulled lots of long black hair out by the roots when I realized how much everything costs.
That''s it . . . but I figure I have lots of time, right?

Wedding date: May 2008

Done:
Dress bought
veil ordered
venue found
tentative guest list which need to be cut like mad
list dividing up responsibilites
practicing cake baking (part of process)
my wedding ring bought

Doing in next three months:
buying shoes
buying huppah cloth
buying any fabric for wedding
buying gloves (maybe)
buy cake pans?
PICK SOME COLORS! (I love so many, I can't decide!)

Doing in next six:
finding a rabbi
booking caterer, music, rentals (dec or jan 2007)
booking florist (dec jan 2007)
getting one of FI"s friends to agree to be our photog
Bake full scale practice cake
Buy ring for him

Next 12:
finalize guest list and send out invites, A and B list
wedding website.
buy potted plants for centerpieces
make homemade huppah base
figure out decorations
Bridesmaid's dresses
His tux
getting his brother's tuxes tailored
varied miscellany

To know: this is an almost totally out of town wedding, including for me. Only about 5-6 guests are from the area. Also, I'm in my 1st year of grad school, hence the detailed battle plan. It isn't necessary to get such an early start at all.

We''ve booked a venue, picked a ceremony cite and officiant, picked a photographer, picked my dress, picked BM dresses and guys''s suits, almost picked the food, picked out the table cakes that are going to be our cake, picked a honeymoon spot and booked the planes and hotel, and I *just* ordered the invites about a week ago.

Our wedding is Aug. 25 and I think I''m about right where I need to be as far as planning goes.

Are you going to local corsette shop in MD to have long line bra made? I never considered having one made. I sew, but I would not know the first place to start. Details, please.

That''s the plan but I haven''t actually started on it yet... I know of two places that I think will do it, so I need to actually call them. One is Dor-Ne Corset in Silver Spring and the other is We Fit in Baltimore. Once I have more details I''ll post about it. I''m hoping it will be a good experience!
