What happened to PriceScope 2, and all the postings from yesterday?

All the postings from yesterday seem to be gone! Where did they go?

I believe anything that has been posted into 2.0 will return when they flip the switch to 2.0.

Think of them as two separate buckets.
Yesterday they dumped the old bucket into the new one. (They will never do this again.)
New stuff goes into whichever bucket you see when you post.

That is my understanding and please correct me if this is wrong.

Does that mean that all of these threads will be gone???

Yes, anything posted (threads or posts) here on PS 1.0 after yesterday's initial switchover (data dump) will remain in the PS 1.0 bucket which will vanish when the flip they switch again.

Again, this of them as two separate buckets.

Is that a new thing? Because prior to the switch, we were told that the old threads would have the old posts????

No, not true kenny. They''ve put Pricescope 2.0 on hold for now and we''re back to using 1.0 until they can work out the 2.0 kinks.

Everything from 1.0 was transferred to 2.0 (as you may have seen while it was up) so I imagine they''ll do the same thing with these posts when they put 2.0 back up.

I prefer estate jewelry over modern jewelry and I prefer Pricescope 1 over PS2.
I have spoken.

Whatever was posted into 1.0 before yesterday will remain visible in 2.0 becuase they did a data dump yesterday from the 1.0 bucket into the 2.0 bucket.

Whatever is posted into 1.0 yesterday and today will not ever be dumped from the 1.0 bucket to the 2.0 bucket. (at least admin has not yet said they will do that.)

Whatever was posted into 2.0 at yesterday or today will remain in 2.0 but is not visible at the moment because we are currently viewing 1.0 and 1.0's bucket of data.

When you post your words are placed into the bucket of the PS version that is visible when you post, either 1.0 or 2.0.

You imagine but they did not say that.
That may very well be what they decide to do.
I''m only pointing out what they have said for sure so far.

Where did they say that they will never dump the old bucket (PS 1.0) into the new bucket (2.0) again? Them dumping this into PS 2.0 again when they relaunch makes a lot more sense than your theory.

Last night Ella posted this on the I just wanna say - random comments thread, "Most people are not posting because these posts will not make it to the new forum." .

Madam has stamped her foot and made 1.0 reappear!

thank you, Madam!

I have never liked change - I like 1.0 better!

I think it make sense that they consider another data migration. Just imagine if v2.0 is offline for a month - there would be a lot of lost data.

Right, but that was before they launched 2.0, took it back down and put an announcement up saying PS 2.0 was on hold for now. They also took down the announcement that said all posts made during the switch wouldn''t show up on PS 2.0.

Yes, this!!!!!!

I am sorry, I know how hard they worked on it...

BUT it''s not user friendly. I don''t want to scroll down a lot to have to post...

I guess it will be what it will be, wish we could vote to keep the old version...

It wasn''t broke.. Just add some new apps to the old and we have a win win?????

Assuming we are back to 1.0 for more than a few days we likely will do another migration. But please note that it is a double edged sword as it also means that the forum will essentially be non-functioning for up to 48 hours while we do the migration.

We needed to move to a new platform to get new features that everyone wanted. We will also continue to make changes to make it more user friendly as we move along.

We apologize for the frustration but we wanted you all to have a functioning forum to post on while we troubleshoot the new one.

I couldn''t get logged on to the forums. The website "remembered" me but when I''d try to log on to the forum I would get a view / edit agreement screen that would allow me to access my data but nothing else. I was so traumatized.

Same here - all it would let me do is edit my password, if I wanted. Couldn''t even log off.

I’d rather suffer withdrawal symptoms for 2 days to have a seamless transition rather than feel frustrated navigating a slow, hiccupy and cumbersome new PS for several days. Thanks for giving us back PS version 1 in the meantime.

Its more than *important* to have a forum up while 2.0 is being worked on -- its VITAL. Here's why: once a habit is broken, its broken. A few days without PS and a large percentage of people will have "broken" that habit & filled the time/space/void with other activities. Had to ask themselves -- NOW WHAT? And found ANSWERS to that question.

As far as 2.0 is concerned -- I couldn't find a way to see the "posted today" posts in order as is here in this version. That's the ONLY way I consume PS and to not have that option ... well ... habit breaking.

Just sayin'

You''re very right, deco.

I don''t like the new version.

I had zero interest in poking around on the new version. I told myself I''d pop in once more today to see if I liked it, but I don''t think I''ll be hanging around much once it''s up and running. The layout isn''t very easy for me to read, and I''m such a creature of habit that I don''t think I''ll be able to adjust well to the new version, and will likely spend much less time posting on PS.

In other news, I spent a lot of time working on my writing yesterday, and the progress I made there was quite satisfying!

A lot of features were available really early yesterday morning (6am EST) but they got removed as the day wore on, probably in attempt to figure out the performance issues. So if you tuned into PS v2 later on in the day you were seeing a more stripped down version.

I admit to not liking the skin overly much. I find the blue harder to read than the light grey. I also didn''t like that the forums didn''t seem to scale with monitor size. I had a whole lot of white space on my 27" monitor.

I never could get it to open up a forum discussion for me. I kept getting the message that my chosen forum was not open at that time, that no one was online - - no matter which forum I chose.

It was a head scratcher.

Uh huh.

I abhor change most of the time. I''m a relic from the "If it ain''t broke, don''t fix it" school of thought.

I hate change too. It takes me so long to get used to new things.

Same for me! It was terrible!

this is so weird, I''m on PS 1.0 and PS 2.0 at the same time!
