I''m looking into a diamond which, I think, seems to have a slightly deep crown and slightly shallow pavillion. How do these types of angles affect the stone? Is it OK or should I continue the hunt for another stone? (I don''t have any images yet...)

table: 57.4%
depth: 61.6%
crown: 35.3
pavillion: 40.5
lgf: 81

Thank you!!!

Some say the steeper pavilion angle can help a diamond lend itself to a bit of extra fire if the lighting conditions are right, this could be a very promising diamond. so if you could get an Idealscope image, that would be helpful.

Do you have the lab report, polish and symmetry grades, girdle thickness and diameter measurements please?

The lower girdle is not too short - bad for this combination.

You should expect to see a bit more scintillation and fire, but no noticeable reduction in brightness.
but an ideal-scope will ensure the sym and other things are ok

I mean that is good - if it is short - that is bad, this is longish - that is good

It sounds like a good combination the lgf is perfectly matched to the combo and the pavilion isn''t too shallow for the crown.

Next step is to get an IS or ASET image.

Thanks everyone for your feedback! I''m now in the process of getting the IS image etc.

Lorelei - in answer to your question, the stone is 2.26ct, 8.36x8.4. Girdle is 2.1 - 4.9 faceted. It''s an AGS0 but the DQD doesn''t list polish or symmetry grades. Is this odd? Is that b/c polish and symmetry are both ideal since it''s an AGS0???

Thanks again!

You are right. AGS0 means that all quality aspects including polish/symmetry are the highest grade!

Here is the definition from the AGS website:
"AGS Ideal® Cut — Superior craftsmanship in the diamond cutting process. All cut quality factors are at the highest possible levels, and they make the maximum contribution to the diamond’s beauty and value"

Thanks again, everyone, for your help. Sadly, I have just heard that the diamond isn''t eye-clean. So the search continues... But great info, nonetheless re: crown & pavillion angles!
