I''m wanting submerged orchid centerpieces with the purple and blue orchids in them, but I have yet to find a good picture of exactly what I want, so I figured I''d distract myself by asking everyone for pictures of their centerpieces...or for everyone''s centerpiece inspiration pix if you''ve not yet married...or just pictures of pretty centerpieces. Here''s just one random pic of a centerpiece I like.

I love that!!!! That is a really cool idea! I''m trying to figure out what our center pieces are going to look like...our wedding is this november.....unfortunatley I don''t have pics of anything sorry....but I love the one you posted!

I''m apparently making it difficult on myself by doing high centerpieces and low centerpieces in 3 different fall colors.

This is the treelike centerpiece. The same arrangement will be created in red, orange, and gold.

The rest of the tables will have this votive arrangment in either red, orange or gold.

we''re doing the high/low thing, too--i''m wanting half tall submerged orchid centerpieces and the other half, i don''t know. are the ones below waaaay too tall??

Check out theknot.com they have tons of ideas and thats where I found my orchid centerpieces. I tried to post, but it''s not being nice to me right now!

We are doing centerpieces like these.. but really Jazzed up.. with lighting underneath and rose petals.

My centerpieces will be like these also. crystalheart1 - how are you lighting them from the bottom?
Oh, also very cool touch that my florist recommended was additional smal vases (square) with flowers (not submerged, just an arrangment). I can''t wait to see the mock up later this summer, I will be sure to post.

Ok I can''t figure out how to post a picture from this website because it''s an adobe flash website.. But the florist I used to work for submerges orchids and then has a lampshade she puts on top with an actual working light inside. They were a PAIN to assemble, but they were gorgeous. The ones in the picture are leopard, but she has covers in nearly every color. I love the look!!

Go to outofthegardencreations.com, then go to gallery, click on Special Events Services, and it''s picture G16.

Sorry, and chances are you''re not in Texas, but I thought it was cool!

I love all of those submerged flower centerpieces. We are only doing that on the place seating card table, but they are beautiful.

thanks for all the pix and links--there''s some really cool submerged centerpieces out there! i think the main thing bugging me is that most of the pix i''ve found are up close, and i''d like to see what they look like with the whole table because i really like the skinny ones, but i''m afraid of the center of the table looking too bare. here''s another pic that i liked, just for viewing fun...

I had the same concern....I really wish I could see a picture of the whole room set-up so that I can see how the "big picture" looks. I think it will be okay though (I hope!)
This is the reason I liked the idea of having some shorter arrangements around the bottom of the submerged taller arrangements. i think it will help to balance it a little.

I love this look as well! So elegant! Does anyone know of how pricey these are? I would think they would be cheaper than a bunch of flowers...

For my tall 32" vase w/orchids it''s costing me 30.00 each. That''s only one though, I might have 2 small ones depending on my budget and how much it''ll raise the price!

anyone else have any pix of pretty submerged centerpieces they''d be willing to share? i think i''ve already stolen all of the knot''s, haha!

Although I love the submerged centerpeices I think I will stick with a little more traditional centerpeice. My decorator is letting me use large square vases for free and my main flower will be amaryllis since I am having a winter wedding. We are going for a super modern look and I think it will be beautiful. Amaryllis has a thick long stalk and I think it adds a nice touch, and we will only be using red amaryllis. While this isnt the picture of my centerpeices by any means, it shows you the flower and ways it can be used!

these were ours. i love the submerged flower look and didn't think the table looked bare at all. the vases were set on a round mirror with 3 clusters of 3 votive candles (9 total) around the vases.

as far as cost goes, mine were $36 per table including the rental fee for the vases.
(wedding was 2 years ago in san diego.)

I was trying to post a picture but I could not... My florist said she had a base that lit up .She is covering it with rose petals . I am having a really cool lampshade with a damask design that will also have one of those ice cube lights to make it look illuminated. There are also lights that you can submerge on water. I think they are called Floratlytes. You can do a search for them.

I thought I might like the submerged flower centerpieces too so I did a trial run and played around with some ideas. I used silk flowers just to see how they would look. Here''s the daytime pic (ignore the white towel, I was trying to see how they''d stand out against a white tablecloth):

and here''s one in darkness. You''ll also notice that I decided to add coloring to the water, just for kicks. I''d probably put it on a mirror with the tealights and some rose petals all around. Also... the submergible led lights are called floralytes. I didn''t have any for the trial but tried to simulate it with an led flashlight hidden behind the vase in the photo. I''ve heard the floralytes aren''t very bright so you''d need at least two to see any effect.

Thanks for the info on the lights crystal and kitten! For any others who are considering cost, it appears maybe I am paying a little too much (?) or maybe again it is geography as I am in the NE and everything is expensive here. In total for centerpieces I am looking at 90.00 per table. That is for the two large submerged pieces, and 2-3 smaller arrangements. The price could still change though, as I haven''t had my mock-up appt yet and so I guess if I make some changes it would be more (isn''t it always more? - LOL.). I am very excited to see them in person!

FI and I are doing our tasting tonight and the florist is bringing in a centerpiece!!! I will have pictures to share sooooon!!!!!

You all have gorgeous centerpiece ideas - the submerged is so cool and modern!

I like the look of that in the photo....only thought is if the guests will be able to talk to each other from across the table without having to look around the centerpiece. This one might be too big because of that.
