Of this diamond?

EGL Usa ideal1.jpg

The numbers look really good and they say it is eye cleanand true E color even if it were GIA! Plus it is not far from me so I can look at it.

From the numbers posted on the EGL report, it looks pretty good. I would say its worth seeing in person and checking it out a bit more before you buy it. At least get a picture or two and maybe an idealscope pic if you can. Then, after you''ve seen it, if it is eye clean to your personal specs, then go for it!

You seem to be set on an EGL diamond so go look at it. If you like what you see make sure there is a good clear return policy, buy the diamond and get it appraised by an independent appraiser such as one listed above in pricescope. Just remember, to get a very good diamond you have to be willing to pay for it.

Most cutters know when they have an ideal cut diamond and send it to AGS or GIA to be graded and therefore they get more $$$ for it.

Its not that I''m set on an EGL but if I can get as close as possible to a GIA or AGS and it be less than who wouldnt do that. If I have to pay for a GIA or AGS I don''t have a problem. I just am trying to get the most for my money.

I havn''t run the numbers through HCA so I can''t comment on that, but I would very wary of an EGL SI2. Are you sure it''s eyeclean, I can''t see any inclusions noted on the plot. It''s likely that it could be even an I1, which I wouldn''t have in an ering, but it''s all about personal preference.

For my money, I would rather have a slightly smaller stone graded by GIA or AGS, just for piece of mind.

It depends what you consider "close" to a GIA/AGS. Manufacturers and dealers are not stupid. When they have a true H&A/ideal diamond they know it and you are going to pay for it.
