After lurking obssessively for a month, (thanks to all in this forum for all your good advice and insight),

I just purchased a 1.245ct signature round, AGS
H, VS2, 6.97X7.00X4.24
depth 60.7%
table 56%
polish, symmetry ideal
culet: pointed
Fluoresence
Girdle-0.6-1.1
Crown Angle=35
Pavillion Angle=42.8
It scored 0.7 on the HCA tool.

It was $7516 which seemed like a great deal. What do you all think? I went through DCD and also am having it set in a 0.5 ctw embedded round diamond engagement band. http://www.dirtcheapdiamonds.com/engagement-detail.cfm?did=60227

I don''t think I could have gotten this ring for this price $8600 total retail. I learned through Pricescope, that I don''t need to have an E, vvs diamond to get a good beautiful deal. I can hardly wait to see the ring.

BTW this is an anniversary upgrade. I have a vs1, e, 0.74 ct round brilliant e-ring currently which I love, but have always wanted something >1ct.

I had to do most of the research myself, otherwise I feared for our savings if my husband walked into a B&M looking for a ring. He was going to hit Tiffany''s and I was anxious that our son might not be able to go to college if they got ahold of him.

Thanks again for all your help. I''ll post pictures once the ring arrives.

I think that you have made an error in noting the pavilion angle. Unless this is the pavilion depth, of course.

Live long,

Oops! Pavillion angle is 40.6 and Fluoresence = none.

Thanks! Those numbers still confuse me.

That''s better!! Sounds like you did get a good deal. Congratulations, can''t wait to see it.

Sorry I''m not educated enough to comment on the diamond but I just wanted to say the band looks great. Very unique. I love it!
