I''m looking for a great cut RB for my engagement ring - would love to go to this size. This may be just about in my budget. It scores G-G-G-VG on the HCA.

What do you think?!

Thank you!! :))

Reject any stones over 3.

I think you could do much better. I would want to stick to ex-ex-ex-vg on the HCA even if I had to give up a little color or size.

Ditto, I like this tool to find the best cut stones select excellent excellent for cut https://www.pricescope.com/sift.aspx

It's a steep/deep, you can search on here for a lengthy explanation. Short version is probably light leakage, not as pretty as you could get.

I tried searching their better diamonds, nothing came up...So I went looking elsewhere, but keep in mind you pay for great cut, so that price and specs can't be duplicated on a well cut stone.

Here's nice one.

And more.

Not sure if you would consider an I.

Thank you all! Very useful responses - this website really is a TREASURE!

Love that "sift" tool - will deffo check it out. And thank you for the guidance on rejecting anyhing >3 on HCA.

Ellen, I must say that last I looks fabulous. I''m thinking that an Ideal Cut I VS1 will perform really well, right? That I should go for, say, an Ideal cut I over a VG cut G?

Thank you all! :))

I wouldn''t recommend that particular diamond for you as you can find a much better cut stone than this for your money.

However, you may like this one I found:

1.4ct G VS2 H&A diamond - $18,798 bank wire price.

This diamond has an awesome cut!!

Any great cut diamond will perform well, no matter what color. An excellent cut M would too!

So yes, that I is very well cut, and should be a beaut. Also, very well cut stones don''t show color like lesser cut stones. Another plus to cut.

Just a heads up, as far as JA and their upgrade policy, should that ever be a consideration in the future, you have to spend double the initial amount. Not the most budget friendly. The other two have much more lenient policies, if that is important to you.

And you''re welcome!

p.s. I didn''t search for I''s with the other sites, so I had a look. Here''s a couple more.

Again, would be 5% off.

And throwing a J in the mix for the heck of it.
