It''s a nice commercial grade diamond. A little deep and steep, but not terrible. Put your numbers and specs into thePricescope diamond search and see how good a deal it is compared to those being offered by the many vendors here. You may find other choices within your price parameters.
For 11,000 you can do way better. You may have to go a tad smaller or lower in clarity or color. Do you think you'd be willing to do that? You can count on an ideal cut 1.5 carat appearing way bigger than a 1.7 just because of it's ideal proportions producing great brilliance and fire. Here's an example:
Agreed. I would rather have a 1.5ct ideal cut, which is still plenty big enough, than a so-so cut 1.75ct. I would keep looking. This one does not do well in the HCA at all. This one would be good, if it''s eye-clean - http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-231889.htm
It''s just over $9k with the PS discount.
I also agree. Originally, I asked the vendor for a 1.5c F SI1, but he offered me the bigger stone instead.
He only had the GIA cert and no Sarin report, so I asked him to fax me a copy of the GIA report for further review.
He did not pressure me into buying though, but the odds of me actually getting a stone from him now are very low.
