Princess Cut
Cut: AGS-0
Carat: 0.818
Size: 5.34 X 5.10 X 3.69 (1.05 L/W ratio)
Color: E
Clarity: VVS1
Table: 70.6%
Depth: 72.4%
Crown Height: 10.8%
Cutlet:Pointed
Fluorescence: Medium Blue
Polish & Symmetry: Ideal
Girdle: Slightly Thick
Price:$3200

What do the experts think? I would be willing to go for less color and clarity but this diamond is priced pretty low because of the fluorescence I believe. I just read the article posted on Flourescence and it's effects. Do you think it will have any effect on transparency with an E color diamond?

This will be the center stone of a 3-stone ring. Would the sidestones which I would like to be ~0.4-0.45 carats each have to have flourescence as well? Would they look okay together if not? Also, I am concerned about the pretty high table and depth but know with princesses, it's hard to tell based on the numbers.

All of my knowledge has come from this site and forum. Thanks in advance for the help.

Looks good. Who is the vendor? Is he able to provide ASET image?

Medium Fluor should not be a problem, very very small chance of it having oily/hazy appearance in the sun, but no harm asking the vendor about it.

Side stones should look ok without fluor.

Too much

I picked up a 1.065ct princess, vvs1-vvs2 with J-k color (yes, color isn''t great) But $2500 for it. Faces up very nicely- looks like a G-H in setting. Mind you I can''t sell the thing to save my life unless I sell it at cost, but either way.

Try to find a diamond wholesaler rather than a retailer.

Numbers aren't showing any red flags, so that's good (table and depth are fine). However, there's no real way to know if it will be a good performer unless the vendor can provide pictures and preferably ASET or IS images. Fluorescence is a plus for me; as you read, the overblue effect is rare in even strong/very strong stones, almost unheard of in medium. You could ask the vendor to observe the stone in sunlight to make sure it's OK.

Gotgold, the great price you got is mostly due to the J-K color. Color has a huge effect on diamond pricing (especially as you get larger). For an E, this is a good price.

I would definitely widen up the color/clarity range as you mentioned! How about this?

The image hasn't been uploaded yet, but the ASET is good and the numbers look similar to yours. The benefit of this stone would be that you're getting a branded ideal cut (=SPARKLE!) from a trusted vendor with a great upgrade policy. H color would be nothing to worry about - nice and white!

ETA: I completely missed the designation of AGS-0 in your diamond above!!! AGS ideal princesses are almost always great performers. This would make it a little safer to buy unseen, although most of us still wouldn't recommend that. I still would prefer to have images, but it's not going to be ugly. Consider both your original choice and my suggestion from WF...both are likely to be great contenders.
