Hello,
I am keen to know your thoughts on this one...

shape: Round Ideal Cut
. Carat: 1.201
. Depth %: 60.6
. Table %: 55.5
. Crown Angle: 34.7
. Crown %: 15.4
. Pavilion Angle: 40.8
. Pavilion %: 43
. Girdle: Very Thin to Medium Faceted
. Measurements: 6.91-6.92X4.19
. Light Performance: 0
. Polish: Ideal
. Symmetry: Ideal
. Culet: Pointed
. Fluorescence: Medium Blue

I am a bit concerned about there being med blue fluoro - is this much of an issue?
Thank you !

beatiful

The Med. Fluoro should not be an issue based on the treads I''ve read on PS. The very thin girdle could be an issue, you may want to check with the vendor. Otherwise the numbers look sweet.

Thritto.

Thanks for the above advice!

I checked with the vendor and apparently the thin girdle covers less than half the circumference of the stone. Does that make it less of an issue?

To me personally, not really. It''s very thin, that''s different than thin. If it were just a small spot or two, that would be different. But that''s a pretty big area (imo) that will be much more prone to chipping.

If it were me, I''d keep looking.

Do you mean the very thin part of the girdle covers this area?

Hi,
I was told that the thin girdle covered less than half the stone - according to the sarin report.
I am maybe not interpreting the sarin properly - it says 0.9% - thin, 1.3% medium.

Is it from the sarin report that the vendors would have got the girdle information?

Ok, I found the stone. The Sarin lists the girdle at Thin to Med. That''s better. It''s probably fine, but ask the vendor if it poses any greater than normal risk to chipping.

Thanks Ellen,
I don''t know quite why it says very thin on the details with the stone and then different reading in the sarin!
WF said that with a good setter it wouldn''t pose a problem.

Is WF setting it? Also, I was thinking about normal daily wear, it will get knocked around a bit, it''s inevitable, as hard as we try not to. I would enquire about that also. Better safe than sorry.

And you''re welcome!

Just to update if you are interested!

WF were very helpful over the phone - as I was hoping.
Apparently the girdle is thin- not very thin, and will not be prone to chipping, and will be fine for everyday wear which is good news for me.
Ellen - WF will be setting it, hopefully in the sleek-line legato setting if we go ahead with it. It is what I woud like - I''ll see if BF agrees!

Excellent!

Great news! Looks like you''ve picked a winner of a stone, and the setting will compliment it nicely. Love that one!
