Hi guys,

I have been reading this forum for quite some time to learn more about what to look for in a diamond. My partner & I have been talking about getting engaged for some time now and after pestering him he has said I should look out for a diamond I like!

I''ve found one online here in Australia, could you guys please let me know what you think of this stone?

Here are the stats:
1.06 ct H&A RB, 6.59-6.64 mm diam
F colour
VS2 clarity
34.5 crown angle
15.2% crown height
40.9 pavil angle
43% pavil depth
0.4% culet
55.8% table size
60.7% depth (4.01 mm)
1.6-2% (sl thick) girdle thickness
40:60% star/upper

It comes with a certificate from AGS, and is a 0 according to them. No mention of fluorescence either.

I am just a bit concerned about the table size being 55.8%, I guess that is not too small??
I wonder whether there is a great difference between diamonds with a spread of 55-58%? I don''t know how much bigger a diamond can look by going up to a 57% table. Maybe I am being too picky??

Also does it matter that the culet is 0.4% as opposed to 0/none?

Please post all your thoughts, that would be much appreciated!

40:60% star/upper do you have the lower girdle facet percentages too please?

If you mean the spread on the HCA being VG, all but the more shallow depthed diamonds get VG not Ex, nothing to worry about.

Also does it matter that the culet is 0.4% as opposed to 0/none? No, you won't see it.

Please post all your thoughts, that would be much appreciated!

Thanks for your reply Lorelei!

This might sound like a stupid question, but how do I find the lower girdle facet details?

This is the website with the diamond listing btw

The lower facet is 77%. Anyway, the ASET looks good to me.

Not a stupid question at all, NO question is ever stupid to me so no worries!!! look on the diamond diagram on the report and you will see them there towards the bottom, the lower girdle facets are 77% which is well within good range.

The ASET image looks good too, could be a cracking diamond.
