I colour should not be a problem as a well-cut diamond faces up even whiter.
Diamonds are graded for colour when they are loose, upside down (pointed side up, flat side down) and against white background compared to a master set of stones under natural daylight.
Face-up D-F look colourness and G to I look Near Colourless.
From the the top, the sparkle (light return, fire and scintillation) from a well-cut diamond obscures any measure of colour hence your diamond can look even whiter.
So enjoy
No problem. I was shown a few stones once face up and I actually thought one of them which was an I color had to be a G or better because it was so light and bright. I is definitely a great color for well cut stones.
I just purchased a diamond from Whiteflash on Monday. It is a Hearts & Arrows, A Cut Above, 1.87 "I". Both Brian and Lesley from Whiteflash assured me that it is a gorgeous diamond that shows white, white, white!!
They are making a beautiful pendant for me right now - can''t wait to see it!!
