I think I am at the end of my search, but I am really looking for honest input on this diamond. I think the specs are in order and I love the look of the diamond, I just want to make sure it will carry the same fire and brilliance when I see it in person. Your thoughts, comments, compliments, and concerns are all welcome. Thank you very much for your help.

Regards,

Josh

Bumping this one for Strmdr since he's the resident Asscher king.

I don't know enough about the science of that cut, but I just wanted to say it looks really pretty to my eyes. Hopefully Strm can get you an expert opinion.

Id give it a 2 on a 0 too 10 scale.

Some people do like them that way when only the windmill points light up but I feel it takes life out of the stone unless the table is really small.

Is 0 the most desirable or 10?

Thanks..that''s sort of what I thought, but newbies might not know.

Storm,

I have to give you some credit, I brought in this stone, as I liked its simplicity, but its simplity = no life. The center of the stone was lifeless, dull, and boring. I''m returning the stone today, out $100, but I feel good that I didn''t settle. Now the entire search starts over agian. Do you have any suggestions on who I can call and have them be able to pick out a stunning Asscher if I give them the basic color and clarity guidelines? I know you have suggested GOG and niceice. Are there any others? I''m also going to be in NY in a week, any locations there that you would suggest I visit? Thanks again for all your help, it is much appreciated.

Best Regards,

Josh

Hey Strm,
how does the grading scale work anyway? new this this as you already know

If your going too be in NY can you visit GOG out in LI?
It would be well worth the trip, let him know you are coming and he will have some waiting for you.
ERD is another that is in NY in the diamond district.
Same deal call ahead.

The grading system is 95% in my head at this point and hasn''t been finalised.
Unfortunately every time I try and put it down in black and white exceptions come up.
When you cant go by the numbers and have too go by pictures it is hard too describe and put down as its more art than science.

Looking at some of GOG''s asschers as of late, I have been very impressed. Why do they seem to have such better quality asschers than the other retailers?

Jon specializes/carries more fancies, and Asschers for one in particular, than most vendors do. He''s got some great suppliers.

Agreed. Mark at ERD also seems to know what he is doing with fancies. I''d give him a call too.

yep,

The volume of them he buys and relationships he has with the top cutters.
He also listened too me when no one else would that there is a market for them and what I like too see in them.

Hey Josh, just my opinion but I think the windmills look off - kinda squaty. Does that make sense? Good luck on this or your future purchase!
