OOps I meant 3 diamonds. Does anything here jump out at you, which should make me take it off my list of possibliites? I asked the jeweler to see how eye clean they are and I'm awaiting a response. But just in case I wanted all the experts on Pricescope to check them out. What do you think is the best one of the bunch and which ones would you not even bother with?

Thanks in advance!

Option 1 2.02 D SI1

Option 2:
2.01 E SI2

Possible Option 3 but I haven''t heard yet if it is eye clean.

2.01 G SI2

Anyone?

It is generally recommended to stick to AGS and GIA labs which tend to grade a lot more consistently - thus an ability to compare actual apples to apples so to speak.

These lab reports do not contain the crown and pavilion angles. It might be difficult garner opinions without this data and/or some ideal-scope images at the very least.

I think these might all be EGL Israel graded Sarah....Are you looking at EGL graded diamonds due to wanting a certain size for the budget?

outa, EGL grade crown and pavilion in percentages which although not as accurate as angles, do give some idea.

as mentioned above, EGL Israel has one of the worse reputation around, likely to be off in color and clarity grade by 2. From the proportions, #1 and $2 definitely need an Idealscope image to check out if the obstrution effect is significant, Forget about #3 unless you are looking for a pendant stone.

I was looking for something larger between a 1.6 + so I was suprized by some of the options my Jeweler is bringing out. I don''t think he quite gets what I''m looking for unfortunately.

Ok so these are smaller but with GIA and EGL certs. What do you think of them.

Option #4- GIA report attached

Option #5

Need the crown and pavilion angles for option 4, as it is an old report you would need to see if the jeweller can run a Sarin scan on the diamond, also this one is facing up small if I am reading 1.80 cts correctly, more the size of a 1.5ct diamond - I wouldn't want that personally - if I am buying 1.80 cts I want the diamond to look like it. Option 5, the pavilion angle is too shallow, the diamond could show obstruction which is darkening at close inspection due to the shadow of your head as a result.

ditto. Also, for #4, ask the jeweler to get it regraded by GIA since the report is 1998, it is probably a trade-up/buy back stone.

Opps sorry I should have put the carat weight.- the GIA is 1.60 and the EGL is 1.51

Ah - that weight looks better!! Can''t tell much more without the angles, ask the jeweller if they can run a Sarin on the diamond to get the angles and I would advise if you buy it making the sale final on it checking out to your satisfaction with an independant appraisal, and get this in writing. Ask about the history of this diamond too.

Thanks Lorelei and Stone Cold! He is going to keep sending me certifcates for diamonds this week as I will be in town next friday to look at them in person so we are trying to narrow it down to 4-8 that I would be interested in and your comments really help me! However, I still think he is missing the target with what I want. I hope we find something. If not then I won''t do the trade in and I will start looking more seriously through other PS vendors. I''ll keep posting the certs as I get them...once again thank you for your help!

Good luck. Keep posting the reports. :)
