nope to all 3.

First, they are EGL, considered looser in color and clarity grading by trade so they are discounted why traded between vendors and are priced according to what the vendors think will be the likely grade if send to GIA/AGS. You will not be getting as good a deal as you think you are if you go by their color and clarity grades.

Second, the proportions are out. #1 and #2 are likely to be too steep in the pavilion and #3 too shallow but since EGL measures these depth with so bad an accuracy, it can be anything.

Hi Mara and welcome!

By thoughts are the same as Stonecolds, do you have any other diamonds in mind?

Thanks to both of you. I''m so happy for this website because they all looked like a great deal according to color and clarity so I had to ask. I''m open to other vendors or stones, just trying to get an idea of what I can get to replace the current 7mm tanaznite in my e-ring. This is what I''m looking for, let me know if my price range is possible.

6.5-7mm round(diameter is more important that ct. to fit current setting)
ideal cut
color min J
clarity min SI1
budget: I''m hoping for around $5,000 but could stomach $5,500. If I can''t do it, I''m going to give it another month or two of saving before buying.

I''m willing to get a smaller stone if it will fit my current setting.

I haven''t got a clear answer from a jeweler yet. I just moved from LA to Northern CA so I''m not actually near my jeweler. My rings are currently at the jeweler getting replated and I peaked at tanzanite under magnification and due to some new wear, have a new sense of urgency. I''ve only had jewelers say "it needs to be near the same size as your current stone" I''m not sure how close it needs to be but I''ll sure ask today when I pick them up. It''s currently in a three stone basket setting.

so fare the whiteflash stone posted by dreamer seems to look best picture wise to me. I know it''s a K which I may try to see one in person to judge. I will sit down with the jeweler today and hopefully will find out the smallest mm range I can use. I would much rather buy the smallest stone possible for the setting and up the quality.

Thank you all for your help. I would consider all the stones you posted. I will let you know what happens.

Make sure they are GIA or AGS graded K diamonds. Other labs will not be a strict and so it may not be a *true* K.

If you are curious, here is the WF K diamond next to an H and an I. I have the photo because I was considering this diamond when I was upgrading a few months back. The tilt angle might show the color the best. If you are not a diamond person who is familar with them, the color is less likely to bother you. I owned a K and only traded it because I am obsessive

But this K really tempted me because it looks a good size.

I went to the jeweler, I couldn''t see the difference with the K certified diamonds and I do prefer a little warmth in the diamonds. I also found out, I can go a little smaller with my setting. I can easily go with a 6.5mm stone, even a 6.2 will fit. I really like the look of the white flash stone, but I''m going to see if I might find something a tad smaller. never thought tenths of a mm would matter so much in my life but it makes a big difference. Thanks everyone for your help.

Did you look at them in non-jewelry store lighing? indirect diffuse light will show the color most. Just want you to be sure

I think if you try to find a diamond just unde the 1ct mark you will save the most money. 6.5mm is about a 1ct diamond, so a .90ct or above should do fine.

Brian Gavin has a lot of stones that fit your specs. I would take a look at them.

I didn''t see anything closer to the 7mm mark.

OP what does your jeweler say about fitting a 6.5mm stone into your setting?

She said 6.5 - 7mm in her spec list.
I was just pointing out there was nothing over 1.2cts
