Our wedding will not be for another good while, but our flower arrangements sort of impact on the venue that we pick so I''m already thinking about centerpieces.

We don''t want to have wedding colours and our table-cloths will just be white. Most flower arrangements will also probably just consist of white roses. Now, what do I do about centerpieces to make sure there''s no colour bias? Do I just go for white roses again? I think that might be a bit bland as table-cloths will also be white. Or should I just go for multi-colour flowers in centerpieces? Or monochrome centerpieces but different colour per table? What do you think?

Okay so... no color bias. How about all greenery (plants made into arrangements) or all branches with candles votives hanging from them?

As for no colors. Can you do silver or gold overlays on the tablecloths (sounds expensive even as I'm suggesting it)... how about centerpieces with a wrought iron or silver or gold or wood base? Something that lifts it off the tablecloth. And then you can do cream and white flowers with lots of greenery for contrast.

I think that doing all different color centerpieces per tables is going to take a florist of some skill in order to make the look cohesive... I think going with a unified theme will be less costly and more elegant, personally.

Gypsy, I looooooove your idea about silver or gold overlays on the table-cloths. Thanks! And thanks for the links about the centerpieces as well. I also adore the first one!

The bouquet and boutineer will probably be white or cream roses.

p.s. this forum is great! I''m just getting so many interesting ideas

I think a combination of white and ivory, spruced up with a light (chartreuse-like) green gives you a classic white wedding that still looks fresh. That''s what I''m doing.

good idea mscushion! I really would like to keep it as much white as I can before it just gets bland.

I think you do need to add a tiny splash of colour. I love the green folliage ideas. Would look really clean and organic.

Or you could add colourful flower arrangements on each table, really mix it up, but then you would probably lose that simplicity of white to some extent I guess.

You could do something like this, if you wanted to deal with water and candles:
