Table: 56
Depth: 62.1
Crown: 34
Pavillion: 40.8
Girdle: med to thick (4%)
Upper girdle facet (is this the right terminology?): 50
Lower GF: 80

The stone scores less than 2 on the HCA but it has a smaller diameter than one that's less deep. Do you think the performance will be adversely affected? If so, how?

what is the carat size?

Well if its big, rates sub 2 on the HCA, and the cert look good reserve this badboy and we can go from there. I would say I'd consider the specs given so far as very likable and desirable.

Again, If the price is good, the size one you want, and there's inclusions you can live with reserve the stone and then share the goodness with us so we can ooo and ahhhhh along with you.

LOL!!

Buuuttt, what do you think of i) the thicker girdle and ii) the fact that the diameter is smaller than stones of the same/ similar carat size (no doubt caused by the thicker girdle and hence greater depth)?

so if its a 2.5ct it may look like 2.3cts instead????????????? :loopy:

how's its price compared to like ct weight stones?

Ok if Phoenix says it is big I'm thinking it is over 5cts........oh don't hold out on us. Besides I want to know what lurker has that much pocket money to be spending :naughty:

Thanks, guys. Appreciate the assurance.

The diamond is a few mm smaller than its comparable counterparts but the price is a lot more attractive. Sorry to be coy, but I've learned things the hard way. 8)

I am thinking also to get the stone looked at by an independent appraiser. Shall update you with any progress later.

Wish me luck!

Nope, not yet. I fully intend to, after it's been appraised. It's a lot of money to not see it with your (ie. my ) own eyes.

Good luck, Phoenix! Hopefully you can get good pictures. I would think the stone would be fine other than if it is SI clarity and then it is maybe or maybe not clean from all angles.

Thank you, DS. I've asked for ASET, IS image and "regular" photos....we shall see...

Have I missed anything?

Perhaps you mean a few tenths or hundredths of a mm? A few mm difference is huge!

Ha ha, you're right.

You can't be picky about such teensy nuances that won't affect optics at that size range. Stones that size are rare, and then you want top cut which is a further decrease is frequency, maybe top 10%... get too picky and you will never find anything. This one sounds promising!

Agreed with every word you've said, Dreamer. I know cuz I've been looking for about 6 years already. Something has GOT to give...

Goodluck Phoenix!!! I can't wait for an update....ok how about a hint. Like between 5-4cts? More then 6cts? Oh how I'm living vicariously through you till I get my 4ct upgrade!!!!
