What do you think of 'knuckle rings'?

I have seen these on Etsy and Pinterest, and wondered what other PSers thought of them. They are meant to be worn near the top of the fingers, near the first knuckle. It seems they are typically worn in 'sets' of matching rings, or multiples that look 'matchy.' Have you worn these? Would you? You can find sets of 4-5 rings for around $10, so losing one wouldn't be an expensive loss.

I did this ALL THE TIME in high school! It's fun to see them coming back and I have considered breaking out my old ones (if I can find them) or getting some new options. :D

All I can think is "push it down!" and I feel like they're gonna fall right off!

I'm all for wearing jewelry, but besides the fact that I can't wear those fake metals an would rather not waste the $10 (10 of them can buy me a real band!), they look awfully uncomfortable. I like mobility in my fingers, and that looks like it would block some movement. Rheumatoid arthritis runs in my family, so I need to appreciate the mobility I have while it lasts ;)

Cool!

Very Karl Lagerfeld.

They always seem to me like they are close to falling off.

I have a couple, but I do worry about them falling off when I wear them. It's more of a going out look because of that. Maybe it's the way my fingers are shaped but if I put my finger in my pocket, reached in my bag, etc., they want to come off. So they're cute to wear to dinner and that's about it!

I haven't tried these, but I too would be worried about them falling off.

I'm also in the 'uh oh! its gonna come off' camp. OR --- its just too much. But then--- I'm an old fogey and don't *GET* some of the newer trends....

;))

It's a pretty look, but I'm with Thing in the feeling it's an insurance claim waiting to happen. Cheap rings only for this kind of wear!

They remind me of high school when I used to wear rings like this.

They are good for ladies with little finger meat I guess. Seems they would only stay on if the knuckle is bigger than the in-between area.

I think this is why they freak me out - where normal rings rest, the knuckle above IS bigger than that area, so regular rings have to work their way over my knuckle in order to fall off, which I would probably notice. But my top knuckles AREN'T bigger - they are significantly smaller than that upper bit of my finger!

Hahaha! Me too. But I'm feeling like an old fart admitting it....
(Personally, I'm being wild wearing a ring on my middle finger.)

Ahhhh...another "life" for the rings I've literally "outgrown"!  Resurrection! Ressurrection!!

BTW...when I read the thread's title, I was expecting "brass knuckles" with pave...ouch!

LMAO

Circe, mine's gonna be with 6 prongs, super ideal cuts with fluorescence - you know, for brawls in da club! :appl:

 That model has insanely long fingers. Just sayin'...

Here's me wearing the gold one I have. My fingers taper too much for them to be secure but if I had bigger last knuckles it would be fine. And this doesn't feel like it's about to fall off any second, but it's definitely not secure like a regular ring.

I don't remember these from High School but am pretty sure I'm too old to pull off this trend. I recently have stacked my shorts into the okay-out-in-public and just-wear-at-home-because-mom-shouldn't-be-wearing-3" inseams outside, so it's time to say goodbye to some of the funky trends.

They aren't my style either way. I just like a ring, earrings, & a necklace...not a lot of clutter.

Thank you! Isn't she a beaut? Bought it from kelpie and had an etsy seller set it! I busted it out for the pic and now I'm going to have to wear it tomorrow. All of my rings have been neglected since I got my upgrade! :cheeky:

I think more than one looks kind of busy, but the pic you posted with one gold one looks cute. I think they would drive me crazy being there, though I can't really articulate why. I think I would feel like it was falling off all the time. If I had a tight one, it would probably stay on okay, because my top knuckle is slightly wider around than the finger below it.
Edited to ask: how do you know what size you are? Are they all one size?

Thing,
It looks great on you and with good fit too.

In the first picture, it looks too much and as though it's about to come off. Truthfully, I was expecting to see those brass knuckle rings used for fighting when I first read the title of the thread.

A lot of the ones I've seen are size 3.5 but you could use a sizer above your knuckle to make sure they'd be tight enough.

Hah, I can see why. I guess they are called 'first knuckle rings' or 'above the knuckle rings' but it's not consistent so I just went with 'knuckle rings' for the title.

I wore this style in high school so it is interesting they are coming back in style. For me personally they don't fit my style now so I wouldn't wear them, but if I was a bit more artsy or alternative you bet your boot straps I would!

Thanks Chrono! I've honestly worn them like twice, so kind of a waste of $. But I thought they were cute so wanted one. The gold one was about $50ish so not insane. I should have gotten a cheapie silver one first!

No. Not for me. I guess I don't get this trend.
