I was hooked up with a Jeweler that was a family friend that travels the country to wholesale jewelry shows as a big part of a convention. I received passes this morning and went to take a look at what he had. After seeing his selection, prices & settings I came to the conclusion this was pretty darn good from what I had been seeing. I do not have an ASET image of the diamond nor would any store in the Memphis area be able to provide me with one. However looking at the diamonds at many local stores I was not impressed with what I was seeing for the money. Most of the cushions I was seeing under the scope appeared to have the crushed Ice appearance & were very difficult to see that facets, they also had scratches or very visible inclusions.

I ended up with this 1.30 cushion cut J in color, the setting is .55c. Under the scope is looked GREAT! Very clean, better than I've seen in person yet. With this setting in 18k white gold I ended up at $5300 before tax. Did I do alright? Also, This diamond is not set, just sitting in the setting.

What lab graded the stone? What is the clarity? Can you scan or post the numbers on the cert? It's hard to judge cushions on numbers alone but it can at least give us a ball park and the depending on which lab did the grading you can search comps for similar size, color and clarity stones in the PS search engine to see where you land.

I don't think the price sounds bad but I am in no way an expert.
