Hello All,

I have been visiting this site and benefiting from the wealth of wisdom available in the forums for quite a while. I would now like an opinion on the following setting from Sun Jewelry:

http://sunjewelry.com/er3048.html

The side stones are:
2.50 ct
Color: H-I
Clarity: VS2-SI1

I plan to use my own center stone with the following specs:

Shape: Marquise (15.8 x 5.43)
Carats: 1.63
Color: E
Clarity: SI1

I would appreciate any opinions on the invisibly set stones in the setting and this setting with a marquise center stone.

Thanks and be gentle with a first timer....

Let''s see if I can add a picture of the ring setting...

hi!
To be honest, it is not my taste because I tend to like simpler things.
That is a matter of personal preference, however. If you love the setting, I say go for it. It will certainly be sparkly!
I would caution AGAINST 18K WHITE (OR YELLOW) GOLD with all these sidestones. You probably already know this but the higher the K weight of gold, the more pure BUT the more soft it is. With soft gold you would be at high risk of the stones coming loose, especially with everyday wear and tear. I would highly recommend getting 14K white gold OR even better platinum as these would hold the stones more securely.
With a setting this intricate, I''d do as much homework as I could about the quality of the setting (workmanship of setting the sidestones, particularly). I don''t know anything about this company. it is important to get high quality (and it very well may be) again to avoid any loose or lost stones.
good luck!!

Invisibly set rings always make me cringe when I think of all the potential problems that could occur. If they are not made correctly, you can be in for a lot of problems. And I''m not an expert of course, but I would be concerned about whether this ring will be durable enough for daily wear. Maybe an expert can chime in on that.

Not loving that setting, and the problems that can go with it. Just my 0.2 of course.

yep...''invisible'' set rings can be a nightmare. if you love it, there''s not much else to be said..just know what you''re getting into.

Thanks for the responses. I will definitely put more thought into the invisble setting.
