What do you think about this setting for an asscher center stone?

Hello Everyone,
I''m new to Pricescpe but I have been lurking for awhile and I''m finally brave enough to post. So lets get to it. I plan on getting engaged in the near future and I''ve been browsing rings like crazy. The FH wants me to pick my ring out and he''ll surprise me with it. I have pretty small hands considering I''m a 5''8. My hands range from small to medium in gloves but my fingers are chubby and my ring finger is a 10. I''m in love with the asscher cut and I''m looking to get .75 to 1ct for a center. I want to know if this setting would be too much or should I say overwhelm an asscher cut. I always here that simple settings work best for an asscher cut but this setting would look really good on my hand, i tried on something similar before. I''ve also considered halo and bezel settings but i''d rather sidestones.

Other stones for consideration are princess (which is pictured), Emerald or radiant in the same carat mentioned above. I''m not a fan of RB''s, Marquise, pear, or cushion cuts.

I don't think there's anything wrong with sidestones on an Asscher setting, however, certain ones lend themselves better, imo. I think the setting you posted (second link) would kind of let the Asscher get lost/overwhelm it myself.

Have you considered baguettes or bullets? Those would flow very nicely with an Asscher. Also, a halo can work very nicely.

All that said, in the end it's your ring, and you should get what pleases you. You're the one who will stare at it every day.

I can''t see the first link, but the setting in the second link will swallow up your asscher ( or ANY center stone) alive. If you like side stones, my favorite look for an asscher is to flank it with slender, tapered baguettes on a plain platinum or WG delicate band. The baguettes will give you finger coverage (a 1 carat and under square stone will be probably less than 6mm, but add some baguettes and you''ll get quite a bit more spread for your size 10 finger) while maintaining the simple style befitting your assher. Then, if you want a diamond w-band, you could add a slender horizontal baguette band and still have an elegant, understated, and classy set.

I agree the ring in the second link would swallow up any center stone.

Thank you so much for your advice everyone, sorry about the link but its the same as the second link but without the band. I think i''m going to order some loose cz to see what it will look like in different shapes maybe, i really have my heart set on this set b/c i know for sure it looks good on my finger. the three stones settings made my fingers look like sausages...if that makes any since lol.... but im still considering halo. Its just a drag b/c theres not much for me to try in most jewelry stores b/c of my ring size. The ring i tried on that was similar to this was a fake ring in claires but the center was a rb. It really takes the fun out of looking at rings when they dont have your size

I am not a fan of mixing asschers and round side stones. Have you considered an emerald set east/west to get the finger coverage? Also a split shank works nicely on larger ring sizes. What type of budget are you working with?

I''m conflicted about it too swing and I just found a 3 stone set that might look really good on me so i guess i have to take that back about three set setting.
