What do you think about this ring?

What do you think about this ring? I got it through a friend and it's not appraised or certified.

Should I get it appraised? I was told it's 1.37 total carat and the center stone is about .7 ct. Its 18K white gold


Is it normal for the diamond to give off a blue reflection at some angles??

I paid $2850 for the ring, he told me it's a $10,000 ring. I know nothing about diamonds/rings

I’m not understanding your question. This seems like a pretty unambiguous statement. Isn't the whole point to get something SHE likes? What will be gained by an appraisal?

Yes, it seems far fetched. It fails the first credibility check … If he could have sold it for $10k, he surely would have done so and we would never be having this conversation.

Any chance you can make a deal to sell it back to the person you bought it from?

Yes, professional assistance may be worthwhile for your situation although if you can make a deal for a refund, even with a 'restocking' fee or some similar penalty, I would start by asking about that.
