I have been looking at princess cut stones and have narrowed my decision down to two (finally - I hope).

1.16ct E SI1 Cut:1A $5100
1.2ct H VS1 Cut:1A $4700

I am still waiting for the Cert and Sarin on the H VS1

Here is the inclusion plot for the E SI1... What do you think about it pros?

Do I need to be concerned when about fracture during mounting?
Who is responsible if this occurs?

Thanks,
Ryan

It appears that the inclusions are primarily a variety of different shape diamond crystals which are essentially nothing more than smaller diamonds that were trapped within a larger diamond crystal as it formed millions of years ago... It's just like having smaller ice crystals inside of an ice cube, they are generally no big deal and present no durability risk whatsoever... In fact, diamond crystals (crystals, needles, pinpoints) are our favorite type of "inclusion" because they are merely diamond, unless you happen to get lucky and find something unusual like a ruby crystal or something like that which happens from time to time and adds a little character to the stone

Thanks for the info.

I should have also mentioned that the GIA cert listed: Clouds are not shown.

Is this normal?? concerning?

A "cloud" is nothing more than a small group of pinpoint size diamond crystals located in close proximity. Not to be confused with a "cloud" as seen up in the sky, unless quite large a group of pinpoints will not have the same effect... And by quite large, we refer to something that would be indicated on the plotting diagram as encompassing a major portion of the stone. (1) if the cloud was so small that the lab chose not to indicate it on the plotting diagram, it is of no concern, it was too small to plot accurately AND be something that the average grader is going to be able to find based upon the plot... And (2) you're probably going to need something like 50x magnification and a whole lot of coaching and rest to find it...
