That particular Tacori setting seems pretty popular around here lately. It is pretty. Does it have a matching wedding band? I haven''t seen a pic of it with a WB yet.

Beautiful, however, make sure you see it person before buying, or see if you can order it not custom, and return it if you don''t like it. I saw a Tacori that I thought I liked.

I had a lady at BBB memo it for me. When I saw it in real life, I was disappointed. The side diamonds were so small, I couldn''t see them. The ring did not look like a $5100 ring to me. Maybe it was just that one setting. The one you like might be a real stunner in person.

I hope I am not sounding negative, but it is a big investment.

I was thinking about the Mark Patterson collection as well, I think theyre nice but then again im not a woman!!:)

It looks like a beautiful setting! I hope it is as good in person.

If you are interested in this look, I found another website with some settings that look quite similar.

I have seen that one posted here before...not sure if anyone actually has it or not, though. I do think that it is pretty, but I agree with seeing it in person before spending that kind of money.

I''m not feeling that one, either, but mostly because the diamond looks like it''s set fairly high up, which can be awkward for daily wear.

Hmm. I''m not feeling the love for that one, sorry. I think it might be awkward to put a wedding band with it, and it seems to have a less feminine look. JMO of course. I think you need to see some of these settings in person too. It''s hard to tell with only a few shots that don''t show all the angles.

all of the durnell pieces are designed to accomodate wedding bands so that wouldn''t be a problem. i agree that seeing these settings or any setting really, in person is must if possible. pearlmans will send it to you to look at if you are really interested.

i would also want to be 1000% sure that your gal likes this style or the tacori even, before spending that kind of $$ on a setting.

I like the Tacori a lot but I do not like that Durnell you posted at ALL. There are much prettier Durnells, in my opinion. That one is just clunky and kind of strange looking.

I've seen that setting in person. It's lovely, and not as high set as it looks in that picture. It is MUCH MUCH MUCH more dainty and refined looking. It definitely is not worth $5000 though, I was quoted $2800. The wedding band made for it is also a half-square shaped band. It's pretty, but personally I wouldn't wear a wb if I owned it. Someone on PS has it, I can't remember her name right now but she has a 1.5 RB in it.

What size diamond do you plan to mount in it?

Gilted,
Just an FYI re Tacori...I tried several of their ER settings on before I got my custom setting and I''ve since tried on a couple of their bands and they are all very "big" and "chunky" so if you are looking for a softer, more streamlined look, I don''t think Tacori will be for you, especially if your lady is petite and/or has small hands. I don''t think Tacori pieces are very delicate and feminine. Sorry Tacori lovers!

I happen to be seriously considering this setting myself right now. A few things about this particular setting:

1) It comes in three sizes or ''versions'' - small fits 6.0 - 6.7 mm stone; medium fits 7.0 - 8.5 mm stone; large fits 8.7 - 10.0 mm stone. Each version has a different carat weight, a different shank diameter, and a different price. There are slight detail differences on each version, too - you should be clear about this when you''re looking to order it.

2) The center stone can be set high or low based on your preference.

3) Although a custom band can be made for this setting, one of the reasons why it appeals to me is that I love the look of it with a straight band, or with 2 straight bands - one on the top and one on the bottom, to ''frame'' it.

Hope that helps a little!
