So from what you can tell through my amateur pics (sorry about the IS pic--I''ll try to get a better image), what would be a good price?

Numbers are good and you can''t see leakage in the stills, so I assume the wonky IS is due to either insufficient/uneven backlighting or dirty diamond.
Idealscope''s primary light source is backlighting on the pavilion.Date: 1/30/2010 4:04:34 AM

Could the lighting setup be hiding the leakage in the still diamond shots? Possibly backlighting on the pavillion? That possible leakage ring in the IS is visible in the other images as well, I''d be interested to see what others think.

Inside of 6'' I had to REALLY strain to see them. I would say eye clean, but not mind clean. I can be a perfectionist, so I would always be aware of its presence. She probably wouldn''t notice.

The report is EGL-Israel, so you want to make sure about the quality, particularly in regards to the color. EGL-Israel is known for soft grading, although they do seem to be tightening up their standards a bit in the past couple years (in my opinion).
Still, before arriving at any price conclusions, you''ve got to know the correct grading.
I just graded a 2.70 round yesterday that was graded by EGL-Israel as a D SI1. I graded it as an H SI2.
Interesting thing about it was that it was priced correctly for what it was, an H SI2. If it were truly a D SI1 it should have been priced at 50% more than it was.
Still it was a beautiful stone, and the client ended up keeping it.
$5500 is more in line with a AGS/GIA (G SI1 or H VS2) ideal cut 1ct stone.Date: 1/30/2010 7:24:09 PM
