We bought my diamond from BGD recently, so the next step is to settle on a setting for my lovely diamond. I got a 1.3 carat round H&A. I am looking at this setting from Whiteflash. I think it''s pretty, though I''m not sure how I''d feel about it in the long term.

I''m also looking at some halo settings.

What do you guys think? I''d especially like your opinion on the bowtie setting! Thanks

I don''t like the bow-tie setting for a ring you''re going to be wearing daily. It''s a bit too precious and sweet. It''s like the color pink; okay for occasional impact, too much of a muchness for every day.

Personally, I like all of them for different reasons. But if we go by order of preference I''d go 3 adiamor, 2 unique settings, 1 WF.

These assumptions are base on this ring being an engagement ring or upgrade engagement ring.

3: Simple, but elegant. Won''t detract from the overall diamond in the center. Love the profile/basket. Could dress it up with u pronged diamond eternity band (more options on wedding band).
2: Has more bling than adiamor, but may be a bit high/tall on your finger. You''d need delicate pave wedding band to go with it.
1: Very intricate. Lots of details. Could be too busy for you in the long run.

Hope that helps and that''s my .02.

Well the bow tie I think you will get tired of unless you truly love it? Maybe instead a classic 3 stone ring?

With the other two, something to consider as something similar happened to me. I can't put a wedding band w/my ring; it doesn't sit flush and the height differences next to each other look odd. Just a thought. I do like the halos but something to think about if you want a wedding band too

I, too, love #3. I think the halo around the centre highlights the stone, and I love the fact that there's nothing on the band to distract. I think it's the perfect mix of elegant and romantic

#2 is a bit busier - and to me a bit distracting.

#1 is busy. If you love it then go for it, but unless you can see yourself wearing exactly that day in, day out then I'd say you might quickly tire of it. I think if I saw it on a stranger's hand I'd think "oh how cute" or "oh how sweet", but #1/#2 would get "how elegant".
